Una experiencia divina! This gem of a restaurant was exactly what I think about when I consider excellent Madrid dining. From the moment of discovery, to easily making a reservation to being greeted by the staff, it began well.
The price for the value was excellent, but moreover, each dish was amazingly flavorful and distinctive. The aperitivo, served in a tiny black cone, was sumtious, and the bread basquet selection could have been from the finest bakery in France. Our starters were a mix from the menu and of the daily specials with two versions of alcachofas (artichokes), one flash fried with 2 cheeses and the other flowered over a pure of rabo de toro, and were some of the best I've eaten, as was the puero (leek). This was followed by a paletilla de lechal (young pork leg) served to perfection.
Our dessert was a fine cheese cake with a delectable strawberry & nata ice.
The wine list is extensive and varied with great selections between 20 and 80 EUR and a few other specialties.
Lastly, a comment on the setting, with small dining areas on the main level and below, they pull off a cozy, comfortable and softly lit, vibrant vibe with the ability to close off several areas for small private events.
All in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys bold flavor. It's simultaneously unexpected and yet totally modern...
Read moreEverything was amazing!! I highly recommend! The atmosphere and welcoming and some of the staff spoke english which made things must easier. The decor were phenomenal. Everything you would expect from a restaurant in Madrid. I cant say it enough, everything we ordered was great! Every dish was flavorful and enticed a different area of my pallet. We ordered 8 different items- sardines, tuna, shrimp/prawns, ox tails, lamb. Which gave us a wide variety of their menu. Nothing disappointed! Really good prices for the amount of food we ordered. If you're in Madrid and go to watch the sunset at the Temple of Debod, you must start or end your day at Olmo. You would...
Read moreOutstanding in every way. The food was expertly cooked with high quality ingredients. The hake and the skirt steak were devoured by my family of four. The desserts - warm chocolate cake and a French toast with caramel ice cream were out of this world....the four of us were fighting over every bite. And the service was probably the best we've had in Spain so far - we've been here for over a month. Three servers were anticipating every need of ours. Lovely, whimsical atmosphere in a space one block from Parque del Oeste. We will...
