Pastelería La Mallorquina - Velázquez — Restaurant in Madrid

If you like bad manners , not smiling waitresses, this is the place to visit. When we went there, all the tables were almost empty, we have chosen one next to window, but lady told us that we can not sit there and she has showed us a place in dark corner. I thought it was because the table was for 3 person and they were 'expecting' lot's customers eventhough there was only 2 people inside. I didn't make too much fuss and selected another table for 2 person. But a few minutes later there came another couple and set in the same place we had chosen in the beginning. The old lady said nothing to them, which should be the right attitude. Now, I wonder what was this? Maybe because we were strangers. Anyhow this is shameful for this 'notorious coffee' to make discrimination between his customers. Prices were correct. Pastries not bad but they were not the best ones we have...

My visit to Pastelería La Mallorquina - Velázquez was highly disappointing due to the extremely unprofessional service provided by a waiter whose name I believe is Angeles. Angeles was consistently dismissive and lacked basic customer service skills. We had to ask him for our order multiple times, and he seemed to intentionally ignore us. The service disparity was shocking; another waiter immediately brought what we needed with a smile. What was most concerning was the stark contrast in how Angeles treated other patrons (politely) versus his cold and hostile attitude towards our table, strongly suggesting discriminatory intent. La Mallorquina is probably one of the most popular family owned pastry retail chain in Madrid/Spain. So they serve traditional, good quality pastry selection at most of their outlets. They have recently expanded with their locations and modernized the decor as well. However, the service stays very much like a neighborhood cafeteria. Not only their response was slow on your requests, but no one clear the dishes away where customers have left for a long time.
