I ate in this restaurant ca. 2 weeks ago. We arrived after the advertised opening time but we still had to wait 10 mins to be seated in the completely empty room. Then the waitress came and told us what is on the lunch menu. When I asked for the menu card (because originally I wanted to eat a soup as I am on diet), it became clear that they want to avoid that I chose something else than the lunch menu, but the waitress brought the menu card in the end. Then the cook came to our table and emphasized that the lunch menu is great. However, I still asked for the vegetable cream soup, that was on the menu card (and even on their homepage). The cook told quite nervously that they do not have vegetable cream soup. So I asked for any other soup that they have, and I got the Miso soup, which was terrible. Very salty and tasted like a bad, instant soup. I ate less than the half, but the waitress have not asked me, if it was okay or why I left everything there. The whole experience was a big disappointment. Just one more remark: in the lunch menu one option was the veggie burger for 9 Euro (just ONE course with a drink), which costs without a drink 7 Euro on the menu card......

This place is showing up as Botanique on my Google Maps, however, is it now a vegan Italian restaurant called Pizzie & Dixie.

I stumbled here on my way to Veggie Room and was kindly ushered in by the father of the owner. He was so kind and excited to invite me in. I think it had just opened. He introduced me to everyone and I vowed to return one day for dinner.

I finally got around to it last night with my meat-eating novio. We were super hungry so we started with the Ensalada Balsámic and ordered the Dixie Pizza to share later. This may have been the best salad I've had in Madrid and maybe ever! It was so delicious we thought about ordering a second one. I would come back just for the salad.

The pizza was incredible, as well. I thought we'd have a couple pieces for leftovers, but we easily managed to eat the entire pie. We attempted to order the coulant de chocolate for dessert, but were told it would take at least half an hour. We ended up choosing the Tarta Ferrero Rocher and of course, weren't let down by the rich flavors.

It's recommended to make a reservation. We already plan to go back next week to...

Sadly super disappointing. We went there for my partners birthday, I read it’s apparently one of the best vegan pizza places in Madrid… Oh boy was I wrong. Even though it was praised as a „classy Italien place“ the atmosphere was without any love! No candles, super uncomfortable bright lights and bad radio music playing very awkwardly in the background. We expected a nice evening Italien romantic atmosphere and where left with IKEA chairs. We only stayed because we wanted to taste the „best vegan pizza in town“ another mistake. Both of our pizzas had absolutely NO FLAVOR. Side note: we have been to A LOT of GREAT vegan pizza places. This is NOT ONE OF THEM. For 15€ we go a saggy pizza - way too much sauce, uncooked mushrooms, shitty vegan cheese = no flavor? And best of all absolutely without any seasoning! Why???? I was super angry that I trusted these reviews. This place is SUPER OVERRATED!!!!...

REALLY GOOD, just not mind-blowing. It could be that I’m a bit spoiled having had AMAZING vegan experiences in the past, but I didn’t find this one remarkable. That doesn’t mean, however, that I don’t recommend it. The food is good, and they saved us on a Madrid layover on the 2nd of January when every other vegan restaurant we know seemed to be closed. It just didn’t have that WOW effect for me. We had the Gnocchi de Patata Morada and the Raviolis de Shiitake y Salsa Hoisin. While both were good and the former very well-served, the raviolis stood out the most in terms of flavour. Service was good and we were lucky enough to walk in right before it got super busy (around 2pm). In short, by all means pop by if you’re staying/passing by the area but I would’t prioritise it on a Madrid trip.

Come here and you’ll get Italian classics reimagined in a delicious vegan way. We had a really hard time deciding what to get as the menu bursts with promising dishes that you’ve always wished you could find vegan. We eventually had a vegan version of Milanese risotto with ossobuco which was more tomato-y but just as delicious, rich and comforting as it should be and a great Pizza with friarelli and beyond meat salsiccia that was perfectly executed. Staff here is absolutely great too and helps you out whenever your Spanish reaches its limits. An absolute recommendation for a casual trip into your dreams of vegan Italian kitchen

¿Mola o no mola? ¡Buen provecho y eat&love!
