Restaurante HER proved to be a little overhyped and overrated in my opinion, failing to live up to the reputation and expectations surrounding this establishment. While there were a couple of standout dishes, the overall experience left much to be desired.
The best dishes were undoubtedly the mushroom truffle pizza and the ravioli, which demonstrated the kitchen's potential when they focus on quality execution and flavor balance. These dishes showcased proper technique and ingredient quality that suggested what the restaurant could achieve consistently.
Unfortunately, everything else disappointed significantly. The gnocchi, soft shell beef tacos, and tiramisu were all middling in taste at best, lacking the bold flavors, proper textures, or memorable qualities that would justify the restaurant's reputation or pricing. Each dish felt like a missed opportunity to deliver something special.
The soft shell beef tacos in particular seemed like an odd fusion choice that didn't successfully bridge culinary traditions, while the tiramisu failed to capture the rich, coffee-forward flavors that define this classic Italian dessert.
Restaurante HER falls into the category of places that are nice to try once for curiosity's sake, but the inconsistent quality and general disappointment across most dishes means I won't be coming back. The gap between expectation and reality was too significant to warrant a return visit. The restaurant appears to coast on reputation rather than consistently delivering the quality that would justify its standing in Madrid's competitive...
Read more2.5/5 A good restaurant for young lovers going on date nights. But you do not come here for the food, you come here for the so-called vibe. The presentation of the food is tantalizing, but the taste and quality is underwhelming and miss the mark entirely for what it wants to achieve.
Our table ordered the SeaBass, Spicy Sausages pizza, eggplant crisps, and cauliflower and tried various cocktails and wine by the glass from the drink menu. What stood out was how unimpressive they are for the price you are paying. The Sea bass comes with excessive amount of pineapple in three forms! They are diced, pureed and sliced, it looks nice, but that’s it, it overpowers the unevenly cooked fish. The cauliflower is extremely rich, so much so you get sick of eating it after few bites. The pizza, there’s nothing exciting about it. And the eggplant crisp is a just fine, it reminds me of the college eggplant parm.
Not to mention, one of us is seated on the bench in between where two pillow cushions meet, it was awkwardly uncomfortable of the...
Read moreEDIT: Thank you for your reply. I appreciate you taking the time to respond, but I would like to clarify a few points: • We were only 15 minutes late, not 20, and we were not contacted by phone. If the staff has communicated otherwise, I would be happy to provide proof. • At the restaurant, we were told we would need to wait an hour to get a table. At no point were we offered a table for a limited time, as suggested in your message.
I understand that delays and full bookings can happen, but the experience and the way it was handled felt quite different from what you describe. I wanted to point this out so you have an accurate picture of what happened on the customer side.
We had a disappointing experience. We were only 15 minutes late for our reservation and, without even giving us a call, the restaurant had already given away our table. While we understand punctuality is important, a short delay is not unusual and a courtesy call would have been appreciated. Instead, the situation felt inflexible and...
