Title: A Culinary Delight at Zuma Restaurant in Madrid

Review:

Zuma Restaurant in Madrid exceeded all expectations, leaving me with an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an ambiance that perfectly blended elegance and comfort. With its prime location and a reputation for excellence, Zuma proved to be the perfect choice for a memorable evening.

The menu at Zuma is a true masterpiece, showcasing a fusion of Japanese and Mediterranean flavors that tantalized my taste buds. Each dish was a work of art, meticulously prepared and presented with flair. The quality of ingredients was evident in every bite, and the attention to detail in the culinary creations was simply extraordinary.

One standout dish that left a lasting impression was the Black Cod in Yuzu Miso. The fish was perfectly cooked to achieve a melt-in-your-mouth texture, while the yuzu miso sauce added a delightful tangy twist. This dish alone is reason enough to visit Zuma again.

The sushi and sashimi offerings at Zuma were equally impressive. The freshness of the fish was unparalleled, and the sushi rice had the ideal texture and flavor. The chef's expertise was evident in the carefully crafted rolls, each one bursting with distinct flavors and textures.

The service at Zuma was impeccable, with a knowledgeable and attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Their recommendations were spot-on, and they were always ready to answer any questions or accommodate special requests. The staff's passion for their craft shone through, making the entire evening feel personalized and truly special.

The sleek and modern interior design of Zuma added to the overall experience, with its stylish yet comfortable seating and a vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant effortlessly combines sophistication and a relaxed vibe, making it suitable for both intimate dinners and celebratory occasions.

While Zuma may be on the pricier side, the quality of the food, service, and overall experience make it worth every penny. It is the ideal destination for those seeking a truly exceptional dining experience in Madrid. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or simply a lover of fine cuisine, Zuma will not disappoint.

In summary, Zuma Restaurant in Madrid delivers an unparalleled culinary journey, combining exquisite flavors, impeccable service, and a captivating atmosphere. It is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a truly remarkable...

Zuma Madrid is definitely lower quality than many other locations across the world. While we were waiting for dinner it sounded like the team was having an office birthday party while we were having our drinks. The welcoming service that we receive in other countries was definitely missing, although everyone was very nice. We ordered edamame, 2 cold crudos, 3 nigiris, 1 ribeye, chicken wings, and the A5 dumplings. The edamame was very bland; I know this is not typically a high end dish although I think there is more to do there besides steam and throw salt on top. The crudos were 4 out of 5 stars (mid fat toro and yellow tail), missing an ingredient or two to elevate but very nice and refreshing. The nigiris were the most disappointing part. We look forward to high quality fish and thesebwere just 6 poorly packed rice and a very ok pieces of nigiri (toro, sea bream). For the cost, the wings and A5 dumplings were very good, and came with great sauces. The rib eye ad well was perfectly cooked, the ponzu dipping sauce had great flavor and added a nice quick marinade to the beef. Our issues with service were being rushed and 3 times plates being taken away while I was still chewing on the same bite, and they knew I was still checking because I made eye contact with the staff as I was taking my last bites. Slow down and let us enjoy the food. Overall mix of mid and high level dishes, nigiri I would not get again, and service was sub part but the reputation of the restaurant should not keep you from trying...

What a disappointment! We were very excited to try the new Zuma Restaurant (in the old Hard Rock Cafe location in Plz de Colon) and had high expectations. I will say the place is beautiful and the staff is friendly & professional. The problem is the food is nothing special and definitely not worth the price. We ordered 2 Omakase (tasting menus) for 115€/pp. Please also keep in mind from the pics that most of the dishes are for two grown men to share. Also, the first 5 dishes are only one or two bites. One dish was a plain dry salad with two small pieces of avocado, the meat dish was full of sinew and nearly impossible to swallow. The asparagus was barely cooked and practically raw. The fish was overcooked on the outside but raw on the inside. The biggest disappointment was the nigiri, sashimi & maki. The size was extremely tiny as if for a Children’s Menu. The nigiri was literally the size and thickness of my pinky finger and the maki the size of a euro coin. The sashimi tiny. Lastly, the desserts were ok, but nothing special. I definitely think our 254€ + tip was not worth it. I would have preferred another Japanese restaurant that focused only on sushi. I normally don’t write bad reviews (only 1 in the past) but I don’t feel like being ripped off either. Lastly, the table next to us was only about 12 inches away from us so I’m sure Covid protocols regarding distance were not followed.

Where should I start? I am shocked, disgusted and utterly in awe by the unprofessionalism of this restaurant. I have been to London and Dubai and it was an ok experience, but Madrid was another level of ridiculousness. We are arrived at 3 pm and we ordered at 3:22 pm… 22 minutes later. We ordered the crab salad and the mushroom hotpot and the cod with rice. At 3:54 the waitress remembered that the crab salad was sold out… 30 minutes later with no excuses and that the cod and the hotpot was on its way. The cod arrived (wait for the surprise) and the hotpot never did it was 4:50 when we left citing shortness of staff. For the cod ladies and gents, we had a beautiful hair stocked in our rice :) … we complained to the manager that had language barriers and didn’t know how to speak english, mind you its an international restaurant filled with tourists. She comes back with a new bowl of rice and didn’t bother to change the plate where the hair and the rice and the cod was mixed together… SHE WANTED US TO PAY FOR THE DISGUSTING DISH. What a joke. We left disappointed and very sad by this experience because Madrid is known for their amazing hospitality. I will never set foot at zuma again and will never eat there. What a horrendous experience with NO apology and 0 respect. AVOID.

A warm welcome into Madrid by Zuma - a high end Japanese chain of restaurants which is part of the same group as Roka amongst others. I arrived at approximately 7.30pm in a bit of a rush as I had a train to catch within an hour. The friendly hostesses kindly took in my luggage whilst I took a seat in the well appointed and clean outside space. Dress code appears to be smart casual - I was wearing jeans and trainers with a polo shirt and had no issues. My waiter Joel was very attentive and listened to my requests to get my orders out quickly. First came the sushi (salmon maki and spicy tuna maki) which was fresh and delicious, followed by shrimp tempura - delicate shrimp encased in a crisp batter complimented by a citrus mayo, miso black cod - buttery fish coated in a light savoury and umami sauce and finally rich and moreish Iberico pork accompanied by a truffle sauce. I had a sweet and summery zuma mai tai cocktail and a bottle of still water to wash it down with. Very impressed with the service. All dishes tasted great and came within 30 minutes. Not the cheapest or the largest portions so I would probably recommend for a nice cocktail date or business meeting. And fortunately I managed to catch my train with literally minutes to spare! Thank you Zuma!
