One of the worst restaurant experience ever so far and the most miserable in Madrid! 🚨🚨
I don't even know where to start: on Saturday we had a reservation at Chambao for six people. We arrived and first our reservation was given to other people, so we had to wait 20minutes. After the wait, we were finally seated at a table and then it was back to waiting. After 30 minutes, the waitress finally came and took our order. From then on it became just rude. We ordered one of the most expensive dishes on the menu (2.1kg Tomahawk), all the other tables get a show - not us. The meat came, was completely raw and therefore not edible. Moreover we didn’t get cutlery and after 5 minutes waiting and no one coming, i had to stand up and had to ask finally a waiter to please bring us cutlery. A friend of ours ordered the wild salmon, which simply came 20 minutes before our meat and was thus already completely cold when the meat then came. I ordered two drinks, these simply did not come despite asking three times. The crowning glory was then when my girlfriend went to the toilet, she was addressed by a waiter with the words "she is so pretty, and was asked if she has a boyfriend" - believe never experienced such unprofessional behavior in a restaurant. When at the end a waiter then asked if everything was okay, my collar burst and I said that it was not okay at all. I wanted to talk to the manager and tell him that I like to look over little things, but with a string of so many serious mistakes it is just too much. After 10 minutes, a little man finally arrived who said he was one of the managers (he wasn't, though, because my girlfriend had already been there the week before and had talked to the real manager in person). I told the supposed "manager" about all the things that had happened and he apologized and said he would talk to his staff. I then ordered the bill because none of us wanted to stay in the store any longer. The bill came - everything was fully accounted for, as if nothing had happened. I said that it was a bad joke, despite all the serious errors, everything was accounted for normally. After discussing with the alleged "manager", in the end five drinks were taken from the order, which was still an absolute cheek with a bill of over 600€.
I have never been in a restaurant in the price range where the was so unprofessional and despite multiple complaints one was so dispatched. In summary: CHAMBAO - NEVER AGAIN!
P.s. one of my friends said at the end that he had ordered shots, which of course were...
Read moreOur evening began with getting seated by the door in the dead of winter so that the wind from the outside drafted inside as each naïve diner entered. We wondered why the people next to us were wearing arctic gear, but that became oh so clear. We waited 15 minutes in order to get reseated while the hostess sold sequined clothing???to another customer. We were reseated below the speaker where eurotrash beats were blaring throughout the restaurant. We ordered a bottle of wine without being given a wine list and waited 30 minutes for it to arrive. We began to see the signs of how bad our night would be when we saw a girl and her mom suspiciously picking at a steak before abandoning their half eaten dessert to escape the music. When asked if there was an allergens menu the waitress simply replied “no”. Our food arrived after an hour and a half where we were forced to listen to a man with a guitar loudly play music and two random women with fans walk around him. The person who commented this was a strange sexist practice was indeed correct. Although the hamburgers were cooked for 1.5 hours they still came out looking like they could still moo. They were accompanied by “French fries” which was four tiny pieces of potatoes. The cuddle fish was so bland it was inedible and that is coming from someone who would literally eat anything. When the waitress removed the half eaten plate and asked “you didn’t like it?” To which she responded “no”. In the midst of eating we were again subjected to the guitarist as he plays every 30 MINUTES. When he is done they return to blaring eurotrash beats while the women still fanned themselves. A table across the restaurant ordered the flambéed tomahawk steak which meant the eurobeats got louder and the entire restaurant wreaked of butane. Half way through the second performance we decided we could not possibly stay for dessert if we wanted to preserve our ear drums. The table next to us did decide to enjoy dessert but the woman had to spit hers out after a long debate about whether it had peanuts in it, as she was allergic. In other words they put a pregnant woman at risk of allergic reaction. It was simply so bad that we could not stop laughing and had to pay the bill while one of us was still eating in order to get out before the next round of music. All in all don’t go to this restaurant unless you enjoy raw tasteless food and a hint of long term...
Read moreI recently spent an unforgettable evening at Chambao, Madrid’s stylish fusion of high-end steakhouse and seafood bar, wrapped in an atmosphere inspired by bohemian beach retreats.
From the moment I stepped inside, the warm glow of woven canopy lamps, lush seating, and rustic wooden tables set a relaxed yet elevated tone. A display boutique of premium aged meats caught my eye—this is serious carnivore territory .
My night began with cocktails at the bar, smooth and expertly crafted. For starters, the black kuku ceviche—rich yet refreshing—and decadent king crab mac‑and‑cheese blew me away. They followed with the star: the “Mamut” ribeye, a double-bone steak carved tableside, perfectly medium-rare and accompanied by truffle‑cheese layered potatoes and sweet potato purée.
Fresh seafood was highlighted too—grilled octopus and oysters were executed flawlessly. The service was polished and passionate, knowledgeable about Kobe, Wagyu, and dry-aged cuts, which they enthusiastically describe .
As night fell, the space transformed; a DJ began playing, and a gentle buzz of conversation filled the air. Live guitar and occasional fashion showcases added to the immersive, Tulum-meets-Madrid vibe .
If you're looking for beautifully cooked meat and seafood in a stylish, multi-sensory setting, Chambao Madrid is a showstopper. I’ll definitely return to dive into more of the menu and soak up the...
