🇪🇸 Madrid's Ten con Ten - Worth a Second Visit! ✨🍽️

Unfortunately a very average experience with Ten Con Ten. It started with a group of girls taking very corny Instagram pictures at the front door blocking the entrance which was not a good sign. They could not find our reservation we made well in advance so they stuck us in the back next to a waiters stand. Every 5 minutes I was bumped by a waiter trying to hurry to the computer screen. After being seated we waited 20 minutes with only a food menu, no water and no wine or cocktail menu and asked if we were ready to order. We sent him away to look at our drink menus first. 15 minutes later our waiter returned to take our order where we ordered the Truffle Linguine, Suckling Pig and Orange/Pine Nut Salad. While we waited for our dish, we were brought a bowl of plain bread (no butter or spread) that we did not ask for and charged 8 euros for it after not taking one bite. The Pig was excellent, had tons of flavor but there was only enough sauce for one of the two small pieces that they give you. The Truffle Linguine was good, it had an egg yolk on top that helped cream up the flat sauce, and it clearly incorporated some kind of fake Truffle oil/salt/seasoning although it was still a good pasta. Alto the truffle slices they added to the pasta werw mixed in so they were no soggy from the sauce. The salad was a good concept but had Avacado, Orange, Pine Nuts, Vinegar Dressing, Grapes; in my opinion with that much citrus and that thick of a dressing, the Avacado does not belong. It turned into mush and made it a creamy citrus mush salad. Overall the food was almost at the level of the cost, although being rushed to order, poor seating and the lack of customer service etiquette unfortunately left our experience with a sour taste. I recommend giving it a try although be comfortable paying for the location and Instagram vibe rather than fine dining.

⸻ We booked this restaurant in advance for a birthday celebration at a specific time, but when we arrived, no one paid attention to us. When we approached the hostess, she told us to wait until the table was ready. After about 15 minutes, we insisted on being seated, and suddenly a table was available. The person who took us to the table was unfriendly and gave us unpleasant looks. When I pointed out that she could at least be polite since we had a reservation, she arrogantly replied that she “opened the place especially for us.” When I explained again that we had booked for a set time and the table was late, she started arguing with me. When I told her she could stop, she actually told me that I could leave if I wasn’t happy. I left the restaurant angry. Later, since it was a birthday and we couldn’t find another restaurant without a reservation, my husband spoke with them and we returned. To my surprise, the rude employee turned out to be the manager herself. She never apologized, and instead kept looking at me and laughing. Even when we ordered wine, she and the sommelier were talking about me while glancing over and laughing. The service was absolutely terrible. The food was decent but nothing special, and while the cocktails were very good, the overall experience was ruined. Because of the disgraceful service, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone

I’m in disbelief by the treatment I received at this restaurant. I made a reservation weeks ahead as I was going to be visiting Madrid at the beginning of July with my family. I was excited to try it out; however, such died out suddenly the moment I stepped into the restaurant. For context, I am Dominican-American, and my family as well. We were dressed casually with the exception of my brother who had a more sporty outfit (he’s 11 years old. We had with us 1 bag from Zara, and another bag from a shoe store as we were previously shopping nearby. Our reservation was at 5 PM, and we got there minutes before. When we entered the restaurant, nobody greeted us. I got closer to the bar to ask how things work, and there I saw the hostess who was kind of hidden. I greeted her instead, and communicated that I have a reservation. She told me that she does not see my reservation to which I proceeded to pull up my phone in order to show her; however, she then magically found it. We were sat, and then 3 minutes later another table was sat next to us. The table that got there later than us got greeted promptly, whereas, us had to even wait to be given menus, and a proper introduction. Minutes later, who I thought was our server stopped by and gave me 2 menus (we were 3), and walked away. I realized that he gave me 2 food menu, and no drink menus at all. A while later, I called one of the staff in order to inquire about the drink menu, but then the supposedly assigned server stopped him from approaching me, and instead he approached me himself. He brought me the drink menu, and walked away. Another member of the staff saw me flipping the wine menu, and asked me if I had a question about the menu. I explained to him that I am just waiting on my mom to return from the restroom in order to decide if we want a bottle of wine or cocktails. I decided to get a bottle just for myself anyways since I could bring the rest home. My mother got a piña colada, and my brother got a fresh orange juice. After feeling accomplished that finally we got the drinks in, we waited AGESSSSSSS to order our food. I told the “supposedly” server that we were ready to order at some point, and he said “sure we will send somebody to take your orders” 😳 … I decided to go to the restroom to kill some time, and let my mother know what I would like to order just in case someone stopped by while I was gone. When I got back, she told me that she was about to tell me to ask for the bill, and head home instead because no one came to take our orders until the very last moment (when I got to the table the member of the staff was still taking the order, and she communicated what she felt after the staff member left). After hearing of such, I decided to ask for the bill, and call it the day because NOBODY wants to spend money to be treated like if your presence is not welcomed. I have gone to a significant amount of restaurants all around the world, and this has been by FAR the worst experience I had ever had. We tried the food when we got home, and we would have been better off eating from a more casual establishment that would actually appreciate the support we gave to their business. If the goal was to not make me come back, the goal was accomplished with...

Nestled in the heart of Madrid's Calle Ayala, Ten Con Ten is a gastronomic gem that offers an extraordinary dining experience. This restaurant is not just about good food; it's about exquisite dishes, an enchanting atmosphere, and impeccable service, all at a price that is surprisingly reasonable given the high quality of the culinary offerings.

Upon entering Ten Con Ten, you are immediately captivated by its sophisticated and chic ambiance. The interior is tastefully designed, balancing modern aesthetics with a touch of classic elegance. The lighting is soft yet ample, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that is perfect for a romantic date, a business meeting, or a casual dinner with friends or family.

The service at Ten Con Ten is commendable. The staff's professionalism, attentiveness, and knowledge about the menu contribute significantly to the overall dining experience. They are prompt without being intrusive, ensuring that your needs are met without interrupting the flow of your meal or conversation.

The real star of Ten Con Ten, however, is undoubtedly the food. The menu is a culinary masterpiece, offering a wide range of dishes that showcase the creativity and expertise of the chef. Each dish is meticulously prepared using the finest ingredients, resulting in flavors that are rich, complex, and absolutely delightful.

My dining experience at Ten Con Ten was nothing short of spectacular. The dishes were not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. The portions were generous, and the variety of tastes and textures made every bite an exciting adventure.

One of the highlights of dining at Ten Con Ten is the opportunity to share different dishes with your group. This approach allows you to sample a variety of dishes, making the meal a culinary exploration. From succulent meats to fresh seafood, vibrant salads, and delectable desserts, every dish we tried was a testament to the chef's culinary prowess and passion for food.

The value for money at Ten Con Ten is excellent. The prices are very reasonable, particularly considering the high quality of the food, the outstanding service, and the lovely ambiance. It's a place where you can indulge in a luxurious dining experience without breaking the bank.

In conclusion, Ten Con Ten is a must-visit restaurant for food lovers in Madrid. Whether you're a local or a tourist, a food connoisseur or someone simply looking for a great place to dine, Ten Con Ten won't disappoint. From the moment you walk in until the end of your meal, you're treated to an amazing experience that goes beyond dining. It's a place where good food, great service, and a beautiful setting come together to create a memorable experience. I highly recommend Ten Con Ten and look forward to...

I booked this restaurant last minute for my birthday. Since the main tables were fully booked, we had a reservation at the bar. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us, and when we asked a waiter for help, he dismissed us and didn’t offer much attention. Thankfully, once the hostess arrived, she was lovely — after my husband mentioned it was my birthday, she kindly arranged a proper table for two in the restaurant, which we appreciated.

Unfortunately, the service overall was rushed and pushy. As soon as we sat down, the waitstaff pressured us to order quickly, even though we had a full two-hour reservation slot. They kept coming to the table repeatedly, asking for our order even when we were still looking at the menu. After the starter, the mains arrived immediately — no break in between courses, leaving us feeling rushed and unable to enjoy the meal properly.

When the sommelier came over, he only suggested very high-end wines (€700–800), which felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. A range of options would have been more respectful.

On the positive side, the complimentary olives, bread, and gazpacho were a nice touch.

For food, I ordered the black spaghetti with seafood — it was fine, but the presentation lacked finesse. My husband ordered the chicken tikka with rice, and it was completely inedible — the chicken was dry, the rice oily and likely reheated from a previous day. He couldn’t eat it. We also tried a prawn coconut curry, which was very oily and just okay in flavour.

What stood out most was the lack of care from the staff. No one checked on us during the meal to see if everything was okay. Only at the very end, when our plates were cleared, did my husband mention his meal was inedible. The waiter apologized, but that was it — no compensation, no concern, no follow-up.

Despite the birthday being mentioned multiple times, there was no gesture or acknowledgment — not even a simple dessert with a candle or a kind word. It felt like they didn’t care that it was a special occasion.

We spent just over €160, including a €58 bottle of wine, but overall the food did not live up to the hype, and the experience felt cold, rushed, and poorly handled.

Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this place for a special evening — especially not for a birthday or...
