I’m in disbelief by the treatment I received at this restaurant. I made a reservation weeks ahead as I was going to be visiting Madrid at the beginning of July with my family. I was excited to try it out; however, such died out suddenly the moment I stepped into the restaurant. For context, I am Dominican-American, and my family as well. We were dressed casually with the exception of my brother who had a more sporty outfit (he’s 11 years old. We had with us 1 bag from Zara, and another bag from a shoe store as we were previously shopping nearby. Our reservation was at 5 PM, and we got there minutes before. When we entered the restaurant, nobody greeted us. I got closer to the bar to ask how things work, and there I saw the hostess who was kind of hidden. I greeted her instead, and communicated that I have a reservation. She told me that she does not see my reservation to which I proceeded to pull up my phone in order to show her; however, she then magically found it. We were sat, and then 3 minutes later another table was sat next to us. The table that got there later than us got greeted promptly, whereas, us had to even wait to be given menus, and a proper introduction. Minutes later, who I thought was our server stopped by and gave me 2 menus (we were 3), and walked away. I realized that he gave me 2 food menu, and no drink menus at all. A while later, I called one of the staff in order to inquire about the drink menu, but then the supposedly assigned server stopped him from approaching me, and instead he approached me himself. He brought me the drink menu, and walked away. Another member of the staff saw me flipping the wine menu, and asked me if I had a question about the menu. I explained to him that I am just waiting on my mom to return from the restroom in order to decide if we want a bottle of wine or cocktails. I decided to get a bottle just for myself anyways since I could bring the rest home. My mother got a piña colada, and my brother got a fresh orange juice. After feeling accomplished that finally we got the drinks in, we waited AGESSSSSSS to order our food. I told the “supposedly” server that we were ready to order at some point, and he said “sure we will send somebody to take your orders” 😳 … I decided to go to the restroom to kill some time, and let my mother know what I would like to order just in case someone stopped by while I was gone. When I got back, she told me that she was about to tell me to ask for the bill, and head home instead because no one came to take our orders until the very last moment (when I got to the table the member of the staff was still taking the order, and she communicated what she felt after the staff member left). After hearing of such, I decided to ask for the bill, and call it the day because NOBODY wants to spend money to be treated like if your presence is not welcomed. I have gone to a significant amount of restaurants all around the world, and this has been by FAR the worst experience I had ever had. We tried the food when we got home, and we would have been better off eating from a more casual establishment that would actually appreciate the support we gave to their business. If the goal was to not make me come back, the goal was accomplished with...

Read moreI booked this restaurant last minute for my birthday. Since the main tables were fully booked, we had a reservation at the bar. When we arrived, there was no one to greet us, and when we asked a waiter for help, he dismissed us and didn’t offer much attention. Thankfully, once the hostess arrived, she was lovely — after my husband mentioned it was my birthday, she kindly arranged a proper table for two in the restaurant, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, the service overall was rushed and pushy. As soon as we sat down, the waitstaff pressured us to order quickly, even though we had a full two-hour reservation slot. They kept coming to the table repeatedly, asking for our order even when we were still looking at the menu. After the starter, the mains arrived immediately — no break in between courses, leaving us feeling rushed and unable to enjoy the meal properly.
When the sommelier came over, he only suggested very high-end wines (€700–800), which felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. A range of options would have been more respectful.
On the positive side, the complimentary olives, bread, and gazpacho were a nice touch.
For food, I ordered the black spaghetti with seafood — it was fine, but the presentation lacked finesse. My husband ordered the chicken tikka with rice, and it was completely inedible — the chicken was dry, the rice oily and likely reheated from a previous day. He couldn’t eat it. We also tried a prawn coconut curry, which was very oily and just okay in flavour.
What stood out most was the lack of care from the staff. No one checked on us during the meal to see if everything was okay. Only at the very end, when our plates were cleared, did my husband mention his meal was inedible. The waiter apologized, but that was it — no compensation, no concern, no follow-up.
Despite the birthday being mentioned multiple times, there was no gesture or acknowledgment — not even a simple dessert with a candle or a kind word. It felt like they didn’t care that it was a special occasion.
We spent just over €160, including a €58 bottle of wine, but overall the food did not live up to the hype, and the experience felt cold, rushed, and poorly handled.
Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this place for a special evening — especially not for a birthday or...
