I have stayed at Centrol Colon twice, once for five weeks last May and for two weeks this March. The first time I stayed I had two pull down single beds, which for me, were hard to pull down and lock in place. The second time, I had a double fixed bed - which was very comfortable. The rooms are a bit dated, but has everything you need, especially for a longer stay. The kitchen is good - but they don't provide enough utensils and cutlery. The only gripe I have, is that the signal in the block is poor and I find it hard to connect to the internet (via USB, rented from reception). Overall the apartment is clean, quite and well sized, but could do with some modernisation. ||||The staff are friendly and helpful - always saying hello etc. The location is fantastic - you can easily walk to all the central parts in the city. There is also a lounge area on the ground floor as well as a cafe on the 'club' floor, but I would recommend Cafe Rio Frio next door (same building, different entrance) as the food and service is better as is the...
Read moreI stayed in this location for a short holiday for 7 days. The place is divided into a residential privately owned apartments and hotel rooms.
Expectations (7/10): Personally, I stayed in the privately owned apartments. The apartment was more like a studio. It had Wifi, Kitchen with all the supplies, and all daily necessities like shampoo, towels, etc. We are a family of four so the place felt small to say the least.
Hospitality (9/10): Our host was amazing and was willing to accommodate for us for early check-in.
Location (8/10): The only reason I don't give it a 10 is simply because it is not in main downtown Madrid. It is close enough so you can walk to Gran Via in 10-15 minutes. The location is pleasant and modern and is close to Goya and Serrano. Highly...
Read moreIf you are planning a few days in Madrid this is an excellent choice. Small studio apartments with kitchen facilities. The Complex is located in a great area..taxi stand and subway station nearby (if you are inclined to ride Madrid's often strenuous walk subways), Apartments have small refrigerator, stove, toster and essentials for light breakfasts and lunches. Staff friendly but not too much English spoken although not really a problem. We stayed for several days and found grocery stores nearby. City tour buses--both routes--across the busy intersection. Near the university and even within a good solid walk's distance to the Prado. Apartments clean and well tended. Corridors tend to be a bit dark abd our room faced more rooms across...
