Restaurante Midtown — Restaurant in Madrid

Worst dinning experience ever! Went with my family and we decided to sit inside as we thought it would be too hot outside, only to suffocate from heat seating inside being that the AC was off. Even our waitress was fanning herself as she was taking our order. As my husband is placing the appetizer order for our table of 6 along with our 3 cocktails, at the 3rd appetizer the waitress tells us that is too much food for us..?! Dumbfounded by the reaction, my husband refrained from ordering anything further. We placed our order for cocktails and food and decided to move to the outside seating area given the extreme heat inside. All the food came out except our drinks, which made it to the table 15 mins later. We immediately ordered a second round of cocktails to avoid a long wait and when my husband lifted his mojito off the table, the glass completely shattered and the bottom of the glass came off. Seems like the bartender pressed down the glass when making the mojito (who mixes a drink in the serving glass?!) it literally shattered as soon as it was lifted off the table!!! We were very excited to try this place but sadly, our conclusion was that the service and quality of the food were severely disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant...

I visited Madrid last week and I have to say that the Midtown Kitchen And Bar is a must. Very accessible via metro, bus, taxi and even walking if you are staying at a near by hotel (InterContinental right down the street). While keeping that classical/elegant Madrid feel, the restaurant brings you a very modern and up to date menu. Aside from a typical Spanish meal you can enjoy from a wide range of different foods, from Burratina al estilo italiano to even including Angus beef imported from the United States or a Cuban Sandwich!!! The staff goes above and beyond with their service. They presented everything I needed to know and were very attentive throughout my dinner. We came for a late afternoon drink. The cocktails were very refreshing and the atmosphere of the restaurant/bar was modern, cosy and clean. The bathroom had a fragrant soap and was clean as well. The service was in a quite chill mood (meaning they were very slow in everything). From 4pm-8pm was supposedly Happy Hour (see photo), however when we wanted to pay, they charged us the full price, claiming there was an exception for cocktails.
