I think this is possibly the best seafood I've had - specifically some huge crabs / crab legs, and something like a mini lobster I've seen in Spain only but have no idea the name (it's tail meat looks just like a lobster tail and the flavor is very similar, just about 1/8th the size). The shrimp was well, fresh shrimp, but nothing spectacular other than fresh. There were some interesting turtle legs (I think) in the plate that were salty otherwise not bad. We did the mixed seafood combo plate for 2 - well worth the 38 Euros or so and 2 of us only finished half, took the rest back to our hotel. If you order a plate of anything else it runs $19 Euro a plate (we saw octopus and maybe some shellfish, otherwise everyone of the 200 or so people had the variety plate on their tables).
The place was packed and loud by 830pm, completely full with a waiting list yet somehow with my broken terrible Spanish they got us a table in about 5 minutes (we had a 4 year old with us not sure if that helped). Locals were celebrating all types of events in big groups and having a good time.
To note I saw the wine prices and asked if it was for a bottle, no it was per glass (we'd been all around Spain for a couple weeks otherwise I'd have assumed per glass). A tiny 1/3 liter domestic beer runs 4 Euros. This could be a high end dining establishment like you would see in the US - but the quantity and quality of food was far better. We had a beer and a water and the special for about $60 USD. In the US I would expect about $150-$200 for similar quality. I was wondering where the garlic butter / olive oil was while eating but didn't really even notice as the food was great as is. They have some white dip for the shrimp that was good otherwise just some fresh bread. We left full and happy.
I don't think you can go wrong with this place if you understand and accept the Spanish culture. If you want to be tended to like you're the top of the pyramid and have a quiet setting...

I was the first to be seated, before the another 5 groups, the waiter decided to attend to all the other tables before me, so I basically waited 20 mins before waiter came over, I wasn't even offered a drink whilst I waited. I asked Waiter for the grilled sole, he said not available in Spanish (which I sort of guess by his body language as he doesn't speak any English), I then asked if I can get the Turbot or Cod and he said no to those as well in a sort of very impatient way, then he abruptly ran off without saying anything. What an awful experience on my first night in Madrid, I had enough and just walked out. Before I left I saw some of the seafood that was delivered to the other tables, to be honest, I am glad I didn't spend any money here as the food looked really bland and un-appetising considering how expensive...
