I almost hate to write a review so that a place doesn't get too popular but that wouldn't be too fair to the owners.
Bar Sanchis has just gone into my top 5 restaurants of all time. On a mission to find a place that sold coquinas (tiny clams in a broth) we found Bar Sanchis doing a Google search. The place was really busy for a Saturday afternoon in a more residential neighborhood (not near many tourist things to do/see). We usually like to sit at a table and relax considering the amount of walking we were doing (8-10 miles a day) but the place was so full we could only find a spot at the bar next to where the owner spends most of his time. We were so glad we did as it gave us more time with him and the ability to see everything he had to offer. He was so friendly and kind.
We ordered a few beers (one copa for me and one cana for my fiance). Along with that came some free tapas (some shrimp). We then ordered the coquinas. They were awesome. Then came some free croquetas. Then we ordered some navajas (razor clams) and they were great. Them some free sausage. Then we ordered more beers. Then free chorizo. Then free shrimps again. And more croquetas. We paid and left a little top for all of the great hospitality. And some more free shrimp and then two free canas of beer. It was all so good and the experience was so great.
Seattle has great seafood but places like this don't exist and I am not sure why. I would recommend that if you are in Madrid you have to go to Bar Sanchis. It's worth the walk through the park and back to...
