This was a tough one to rate. The decor was stunning, outside and inside! Great job by management. The servers were very nice, and we were able to get a seat at 2100 without a reservation/wait. The menu only comes in Spanish but there is an option to scan a bar code on the menu and have access to the English version. The first reason for the 3 star is the drinks we ordered. The berry mojito was extremely overpriced for what it tasted like. It was to sweet and was not worth the €10.50. We had also ordered the purple smoothie, with coconut milk, which was recommended by the waitress out of the 4 option. Again, at best it was just okay, as it did not have much flavor and tasted very plain. Disappointing for the €5.50 price point. For the starter we got the Burrata, which was preaented well, very tasty, and the combination of ingredients was phenomenal! For the two mains, we had the curry with rice and pasta malasaña (excuse my spelling if it got it wrong). The curry with rice, amazing overall, fair portion size, flavors amazing and overall a 5 star dish without a doubt. The pasta is the very disappointing point of our dinner. The pasta did not meet the description on the menu. It was very plain, felt like it was not salted or seasoned properly, and there were very little to no mushrooms in it. When I was little to none, we had about 3 small slithers of a mushroom. The presentation of the pasta was nice but definitely not something I would order again when if I were to come back.
Overall, we had a great dinner/experience at Superchulo and would say it's worth...
Read moreI went Saturday night 15th March to the Superchulo in Fuencarral and the staff were very lovely and friendly. We didn’t have a booking and they were kindly able to accommodate us. However, we ordered a pizza which, when it arrived, it had rocket on it as an ingredient and it was crawling with bugs. After mentioning to the waitress, and witnessing bugs running across the table, she very kindly took the food away and we were able to order two different dishes. However, when the nachos came out (which contained no rocket) and we thought were a safer bet, we then ended up finding a hair in the nacho sauce. After complaining to the waitress again, she was very embarrassed and apologised, giving us the food for free. The final straw was then went we went to pay for the two glasses of wine we drank, the card machine wouldn’t accept American Express, even though the restaurant had a sticker on the window. We had to pay by alternate means of payment and the whole experience left a bitter taste in our mouthes. Needless to say, we won’t be going back! UPDATE…. I received an invite to go back again and then when I asked for the date I could go, they NEVER responded and ignored my emails…. Terrible customer service in the end and no one bothering to reach...
Read moreI’ll be upfront—Superchulo is not my kind of restaurant. It’s not my style of food because I’m not vegan, and I’m also radically against the whole socialist woke cancel culture ideology that is associated with vegan restaurants and cuisine. That said, I have to be fair: I didn’t eat badly, and the service was excellent.
The space itself is well-designed—airy, colorful, and with a relaxed, modern atmosphere. The food, while plant-based, was visually appealing and had more flavor than I expected. We tried the “Sorry but Not Sorry” nachos, which were generously topped and had a good mix of textures. The Smash Tacos delivered a nice depth of flavor despite the absence of meat, and the Latsu Baos were soft, flavorful, and well-balanced.
Service was attentive, and the staff made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. While I wouldn’t actively seek out a place like this, I can recognize that Superchulo offers a solid dining experience for those who enjoy this type of cuisine. If you’re into vegan food, you’ll probably love it. If you’re not, you might still walk away pleasantly...
