I recently had dinner at Ticuí, a vibrant Mexican restaurant in Madrid. From the moment I walked in, I appreciated its lively, modern décor—colorful walls, wooden accents, and casual seating that sets a friendly, welcoming tone.
I started with their fresh guacamole, mashed perfectly with just the right hint of lime and cilantro, served alongside warm corn tortilla chips. For the main, I enjoyed al pastor tacos—tender, juicy pork with grilled pineapple and a touch of spice, all wrapped in handmade tortillas. A side of esquites (Mexican street corn salad) was bright and creamy, offering a nice contrast to the savory tacos.
To round out the meal, I had a chilled margarita—the tequila balanced beautifully with lime and a hint of sweetness. It was refreshing and lively—a great match for the bold flavors of the dishes.
Service felt relaxed and friendly—staff were happy to explain daily specials, recommend tacos based on my spice preference, and check in at just the right time without interrupting the flow of the dinner. The place had a comfortable, social energy, with groups chatting and enjoying the evening.
Ticuí delivers a solid Mexican experience in Madrid—focused on fresh flavors, honest cooking, and a relaxed vibe. I’ll certainly be back to try their ceviche and...
Read moreThis lace has a decent vibe, however, if it wants to gain any further Michelin traction is really needs to step up. The flavours are muted if not non existent in many plates, presentation is great which is why it deserves three stars. Service is severely lacking, they’re rushed and do not explained the dishes your served from the tasting menu. Tasting menu is their regular plates but modified smaller versions for an extra cost, it’s bewildering. If you can’t a casual night out and decent food, come along but if you want to be impressed stay away cause it won’t happen. The whole atmosphere is rushed, unorganized and the food has no timing or rhythm at all. Cocktails were good so feel free to try those! editupon receiving the last dishes they’re not edible. It dropped to a two stars when the server dropped my food on the table then just placed it back on my plate and said enjoy. Do not order the Costilla en machete if...
Read moreAn incredibly stylish place, with courteous, polite, and very nice staff that really like after you. The food is sophisticated and complex, yet simple and tasty, with prime ingredients that shine through each dish. We had the wagyu sirloin carpaccio, the Kampachi, the pork belly, the octopus and the shrimps plus 2 cocktails to start with, the Venenosa and the other ( I forgot its name ) was a Mexican take on a Negroni. Both excellent! We had a nice Godello to accompany our food, and a divine chocolate cake with mescal at the end ! They also have a great rooftop bar, and that is also a marvellous space that needs to be seen and experienced! I highly...
