I had an incredibly unprofessional experience there tonight. We went there 8:30 pm on Saturday and I am disgusted by the treatment of one of the waitresses that was working there. First we ordered tequenos and she brought out 5 small tequenos that were very small, halfway exploded from cooking them too long with no cheese inside of them. The first red flag and we should have left then.
We also ordered from the original waitress, 2 po' boy shrimp sandwiches. We pointed at it on the menu when ordering and she repeated the same thing to us. When our food came out, she brought us 2 orders of po' boy crab sandwiches. This was obviously not what we ordered. We proceeded to tell this waitress that this what not what we ordered but the other waitress decided to interject and say that I was lying about the waitress and tried to fault us because the waitress would have to pay for the order she had messed up.She also said the kitchen somehow heard us place our order from the kitchen which is impossible as we we all the way on the other side of the restaurant
In these times,I understand it is stressful, but I'm not going to pay or eat something I hadn't ordered nor will I accept being called a liar from across the restaurant from one of your waitresses.
I am inclined to leave this negative review as the waitress told me "she doesn't care about negative reviews because they already have plenty of them."
I do not fault the original waitress as she made a mistake that could have easily been solved but the attitude and unprofessional behavior of the other waitress was appalling and disgusting. I will be sure to let my friends and acquaintances know of how you treat your customer and encourage them to...
Read moreBeing originally from New Orleans, I rarely eat at New Orleans and Cajun restaurants outside of NOLA. I am an extremely picky eater! But after trekking through Spain and Morocco for 10 days, I was ready for something more familiar... something I truly LIKED instead of just sampling local cuisines. Our dinner at Trikki was the highlight of my 12-day vacation. The food was incredible! I couldn't believe that I actually found alligator, soft-shell crab and crawfish in Madrid! The alligator croquettes were the best croquettes I have had ANYWHERE! We sampled a lot of their food and everything was delicious! My favorite was the crawfish ceviche which I had never seen before. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, I cannot say enough nice things about them! We were extremely lucky to meet the restaurant owners. Yuliet is REALLY from New Orleans, so she KNOWS NOLA cuisine. Her husband, Rodo, is the chef. Together they make a perfect team for a NOLA/Espana food fusion. I truly enjoyed talking about familiar places/experiences in NOLA with Yuliet and Rodo was one of the funniest people I have ever met... with a true passion for cooking. But for a restaurant, it really is ALL ABOUT THE FOOD! And it was FANTASTIC! Trikki Restaurant will always be one of my foodie stops when...
Read moreThis restaurant was like coming home. I am a born and raised Louisiana boy who’s been living in Madrid for a year and a half. Madrid has great food but as any expat knows, only the food of your home can provide that deep comfort we all want after a long day. I came to Trikki as a skeptic but I’m leaving with a head full of thoughts of what to order when I return. First off, the service was great. Julieta, who is one of the owners, was very nice and helpful. She’s a native of New Orleans with that typical New Orleans hospitality that’s so common there. I asked what to get and she said “it’s all good, just go with what you’re missing” I picked the fried green tomatoes, soft shell crab po boy, and gumbo. All of it was good. The Gumbo had a dark roux and they didn’t skimp on the heat, something I was worried about. We ended the meal with a brownie, but none of that cake like brownie I have found in Europe so far. This Brownie had a crispy top with a gooey, chocolatey center. Just like mama makes. Don’t go thinking that my desperation made this food taste better. I wouldn’t say this about any old food. I have high standards when it comes to this type of thing and would never lie on this subject. This isn’t just good Cajun food in Madrid, this is good in New Orleans too. Come...
