Vi Cool — Restaurant in Madrid

Please, please, please make sure you come here! One of the best gastronomic experiences in Spain! Did the Tapas menu #1 for two people! One of the best meals I’ve had in Europe so far!

Drinks are well made, the Tapas are super fresh and really delicious, and they have a way about the presentation and the way the flavours mingle and dance on the palate!

For two people you get four courses, plus dessert! A glass of wine, a Coke Zero, two cappuccinos and tip we spent less than €75.00! Anywhere else in the tourist traps in Madrid or Barcelona this meals gonna cost minimum €90-120.00

Service was decent, the men who run or manage the place are great, will explain the dishes as they present them to you and really enjoy seeing their patrons enjoy the food! The servers could’ve been a little more attentive, but it got better as the night went on, most likely because we went at peak time!

The design and layout was wonderful, everywhere you look very visually appealing. And very much so LGBTQ friendly, me and my fiancée saw people of all colours, religions, identities and languages welcomed and enjoy food here. Seeing that really put the icing on the cake, and I made sure to tell the owner I really enjoyed eating there and went to the trouble to thank him as we left!

I agree with the review saying "this experience is difficult to describe". There were ups and downs to Vi Cool. But simply put - if you are visiting Madrid and have limited time, consider not visiting here. An interesting place to try if you are on an extended visit or live in the area, but the opportunity cost is simply too high for vacation.

Atmosphere and service are not exceptional. They are friendly here, but very slow when we were the only table, and not at all the typical excited Madrid tapas experience one might expect. We were recommended good wine, and went with the regular experience tapas for two. The mushroom starter was quite good, and so were the Patatas Bravas. However, the meatballs were gamey and poorly seasoned, and the Korean style wings, while tasty, were rather out of place and unappetizing.

If you live in the area, give the unique Patatas Bravas a try. Otherwise, spend your valuable time...

Mixed feelings about our evening at Vi Cool yesterday. The venue was just as we expected having looked at their website and we enjoyed the calm and welcoming ambience. The food was lovely, 'posh' tapas style so a bit different. Wine was also good. Our table was booked for 8.30pm, after we had finished eating at 10pm we decided to have a cocktail, only to be refused service and told we had to leave our table! As we were given our bill we were told by our server that her manager said if we wanted we could sit at the bar and have our coctails. As we did this he then went and sat at our empty table to talk to the couple on the next table, we drank our drinks and left feeling very badly treated...and our table we had been asked to leave was still empty! Sorry Vi Cool not...
