We ordered take-out for dinner; it was so good we returned two nights later and dined at the restaurant Over thirty years ago I had my first Vietnamese food while living in Hawaii and spending time with Vietnamese acquaintances. Ever since I have been searching unsuccessfully for that same elegant aromatic cuisine. Pleasantly surprised to have found it unexpectedly in Madrid.
SERVICE: 5.0. When we ordered takeaway, she was very kind, confirming our order, and verifying it with us when we picked it up. When we dined at the restaurant service was prompt and considerate.

Read moreWe were recommended the Vinci Cool nearby but found this closed . This restaurant was close by and at first glance looks uninspiring . There is graffiti outside and several of the local businesses were closed. However it seemed reasonably busy with a younger ( 20 ish ) crowd and this and growing hunger led us in . Inside it is unassuming . Plain decor . Plain crockery and simply laid tables with knives and forks and chop sticks . The drink I had , a G and T was expensive . The food was utterly devine. We had soft vietnamese rice paper spring rolls . Not fried . Served with chili vinegar sauce . Also fried spring rolls you wrap on fresh lettuce and herbs and served with pickled vegetables . The veg was so nice we asked for more . Main was My co and com rang. Again delicious . One a fried rice dish with prawns . Every rice grain was separate . I had fried noodles with beef and a peanut sauce which was fabulous . Overall I highly rate the food although the drink was silly money but a huge glass. I couldn't give 4.5 stars but it...
Read moreAs most of you know, I don't base my reviews on service and atmosphere. My boyfriend and I were craving vietnamese food so we decided to try this place esp bc it was recommended by some locals. We started with the Nem Vietnam rolls which were well stuffed with meat and veggies, and it came with fresh greens. Lightly fried and crispy-- a great start. Next up was the My Xao Mem. It wasn't greasy; lightly stir fried but it reminded me of something... Instant Maruchan's yakisoba beef flavor! Last but not least was the pho. It was quite a disappointment especially for 25 euros. This tasted like beef instant cup noodles with a few strands of noodles thrown in. There was absolutely no depth of flavor which is what all pho lovers crave. I almost cried tasting the blandness of this broth-- not even the withered up cilantro and basil could save it. For those of you who don't know what this is supposed to taste like, do yourself a favor and order the instant ramen packages instead....
