Ristorante Daytona Banús Motor Passion — Restaurant in Marbella

We recently visited Daytona Bar & Grill restaurant in Puerto Banus, Spain. The overall experience was underwhelming to say the least. We came in knowing that the restaurant had good reviews, (many 4 out of 5 star reviews). The prices were expected to be a tad bit more than other restaurants we have visited in Marbella. With that being said, we first waited a few minutes out the front of the restaurant with no one coming to attend for us. One of the customers just told us to walk into the dining area where the waiter finally took notice of us and sat us down.

Our waiter was polite with us for the most part but he really messed up in the end. He came to us with drinks at a decent pace but then took much longer to bring the in food. We ordered 3 Pollas a la Plancha (Chicken with Salad or Potatoes). It was a good dish but the portions were too small considering the dish is 11€.

The most frustrating part of this experience is that the waiter brought us the bill and to our surprise, charged us an extra 5€ (40€ to 45€) for bread sticks that we did not even touch or eat. This was actually the sit down service fees that they automatically charged clients who accept to sit at their tables. But they priced this service fee based off of some bread sticks.

We confronted the waiter about this and he ended up giving us an attitude about it and was backing up his management and restaurant for scamming customers some extra euros out of the customers pocket.

He did not want to help us with this matter or help make a correction to this but rather just hide behind what his boss says. We ended up paying for this extra scam fee.

After we paid the waiter took off to literally hide in the kitchen until we left as he knew he this was not a good look on him or his restaurant.

We have learned from our mistake and we will not be returning or going to other restaurants that give off a similar feel or do similar shady customer scams

I have rarely eaten so well - the carbonara was simply heavenly, truly the best of my life! You can taste the quality and attention to detail in every bite.

The rigatoni al pesto was a real dream for the palate: perfectly cooked al dente, lovingly served and with an incredibly aromatic pesto that tasted wonderfully fresh and nutty.

The service was equally impressive: super polite, attentive and warm - you immediately feel welcome and well looked after.

An excellent wine to go with it and a fine mango liqueur to finish - everything harmonious and selected with taste.

An all-round successful evening that I won't forget in a hurry. I will...

I’m not exaggerating when I say this: I’ve never had a pasta dish better than the one I had here. It’s called “Fruit of the Sea”, and trust me—you will thank me later. Perfectly cooked pasta, generous portions of fresh seafood, and a sauce that ties it all together like magic.

The service? Outstanding. Friendly, fast, and genuinely welcoming. It’s rare to find a place where the food and the staff both hit 10/10.

And the best part? It’s just a step away from my place. Safe to say, I’ve found my new go-to spot.
