I went to this restaurant with my family around 17:20 22.112.2024. On based on their regular opening times they were open from 13 o'clock on Sundays. There was a handwritten paper which told on 22.Sunday they are open from 3 pm only. The place was empty, there were reserved sign on some table, but not everywhere.
After i step at the door a guy came to me asked if i am booked. I said no, he told just a minute. He went to the other part of the restaurant (corner or terasse what was its name under the same logo) and talked with someone about guests. He came back without a word went into the restaurant and disappeared. We were waiting at the front of the door with my wife and my little daughter. Soon a lady came from the DonQuihoute Corner ( where the guy went to talk) she greeted us and also disappeared in the restaurant. Around 5 minutes later another guy came out from the restaurant (where the first 2 disappeared) and started to remove the water from the sidewalk. I step again into the door and tried to be visible to the waiters inside, or at least see the first guy. Then the third guy realized I am not just enjoying the view next to their door, but would be a client. He greeted me and after i told him i am waiting for a table he seemed surprised and told they are open only from 6 o'clock. Maybe the first one didnt know that.
We spend 5 more minutes to check the restaurants in the nearby where to go. Nobody bother us anymore from the restaurant.
I read the answers from the owner for the negative rewievs, yes, always the client is the guilty, and the staff is overstressed, whatever.
How stressful can be a father with a 4 years old who is thirsty and hungry and bring her on your shoulders 10 minutes ago to reach the restaurant where everything will be solved.
You can write any excluses, because no possibility to react on it. But with this behavior the 4.7 points...
Read moreWent here for dinner on a monday night. Have been here many times with my boyfriend over the years and food was always good standard but this time food was of poor standard. Ordered rabbit for starter, was ready in a couple of minutes, which was weird... definitely microwaved...was reheated, extremely dry, old, tasteless and not hot enough but then followed by the cod fish which was luke warm and seemed a funny texture. Like it was boiled and had a strong fishy taste so probably frozen cod. Veg was very average and bland also probably microwaved. Then as we left most of the fish, we said we would try a simple desert tiramisu as we were still hungry. Out comes a square of cream with some kind of jelly in between tasteless and no where near as tiramisu. Owners please find this review as constructive criticism and I hope you can taste what you're serving and realise that serving frozen or reheated food really puts down your food quality. I had your dishes, including rabbit many years and it was top quality and fresh. Hope you get time to try...
Read moreWe were recommended to Don Quijote and are really glad we went. We indulged ourselves and had the Between Two sharing menu, not cheap but we are glad we did it. They warned us that the meal would take about 3 hours, and they were right. Seven courses! but the courses were of a sensible size (more on that later) and with good gaps so that you could cope. Highlights for us were the trio of tartars to start and the steak, but there was nothing that wasn't very good. Really interesting flavours and beautiful presentation. We took their advice on wine with the food, and what they offered was excellent, in sensible amounts (they were not pushing it) and not expensive. Course 6 was the steak, loved it, but then we made our mistake, and opted for the desert rather than the cheese to finish. It was enormous!, or seemed so after what had come before. But we were up to the challenge! We had a...
