My husband, myself and our three girls aged 6yrs, 9 yrs and 10 yrs ate here during our stay in Nerja in August this year. I had heard some nice reviews about the food, and that coupled with the beautiful location meant that we were really looking forward to a family meal here. Unfortunately, apart from the location I have nothing positive to say about our dining experience here. When I booked the table a few days prior to our planned meal I asked if they offered a children's menu as it wasn't on their published menu. The gentleman informed me that while they didn't officially have a children's menu, they would be happy to cater for children and he said that the chef could do the typical kids menu food like Bolognese, pasta, nuggets and chips etc. Moving in to the evening of our meal....when we were given our menu's to peruse we asked what was available for children to which we were told children could eat off the main menu and that they didn't cater specifically for children. I asked about bolognase or pasta and was told that it wasn't available, nor was there a children's chicken and chips option. We ended up ordering a chicken finger starter off he adult menu and a side order of chips for the children. Very disappointing considering I had been specifically informed that children would be catered for. Nextly, mine and my husband's meal. Two words describe the food that was delivered to our table ... Absolutely horrendous. We ordered the Gambas type starter to share. The prawns were frozen....imagine!!! They were soft and chalky and I actually had only one as they were so bad that I feared they might make me sick. They were floating in what can only be described as a salty broth...worst prawn starter I have ever been served. Nextly, our main course arrived ...we chose the lobster in bisque soaked risotto. To start with....the waiter arrived with our main course ...prior to clearing away our starter and he was therefore left standing behind us with our main course in his hands with no space on the table to put it down! He then gruffly asked my husband and I to clear our plates out of his way so that he could put down our main course .... I was at this stage looking for a hidden camera somewhere as it was literally unbelievable carry on. As with the starter, the main course was the worst meal I've eaten in a restaurant...ever. The lobster was cooked to oblivion and all that was to be retrieved from the shell as we cracked it open was shriveled flesh and sand ... utterly disgusting. We have been visiting Nerja for many many years and never have we ever had such an absolutely awful dining experience. My advice....Avoid!!!! It definitely looks the part in a wonderful setting but in all honesty, unless they find a chef who can actually cook, they need to stick to a...
Read moreWas really looking forward to trying out this new place, and celebrating my daughter’s exam results. Had booked a table for drinks, but when we arrived, they said they had no booking for us. They did manage to seat us as it was quiet. After 5 or 10 minutes, a waiter came over and asked for our order, we asked for a menu, the waiter walked away and came back with a bit of plastic with QR code, he told us the menu had to be viewed via that. Another 10 minutes before he came back to take our orders. No eye contact whatsoever during the whole ordering experience, and when they were delivered. Once our drinks were finished, no-one came near us to ask if we’d like another..,. We waited for a while, then gave up and asked for the bill. Again, a long wait …Overall impression is that this place has the potential to be fantastic, but, uninterested staff and an electronic menu makes it very disappointing. I’m not rushing...
Read moreWe had a table booked for Wed 17th
We were greeted in a friendly manner and shown to our table. We proceeded to order our drinks and food, which was freshly cooked and came in a reasonable time. The food was lovely and we cannot fault it. But the service after that point was dismal. Our plates were cleared and we had to ask for another drink. Unfortunately my partners wine came immediately but my coffee failed to arrive. I had to get someone's attention to ask where it was. They did then deliver it and apologised. At no point were we asked if we wanted a dessert , we did but the restaurant failed.to ask and.so lost around 20 euros. Staff training is definitely required for being attentive to customers following the first interaction
Unfortunately we would not visit again when there is so much choice and good...
