We were so happy with our meal at Adrian Quetglas. We found the whole experience to exemplify quality without pretension or stuffiness. That began even before our meal. The day prior to our reservation, we were contacted via WhatsApp in order to communicate any allergies or food preferences. We don’t have allergies, but we do prefer not to eat foie gras, which was planned to be in one of the dishes. The staff excluded it from that dish, and may also have replaced another (which was supposed to have included pate, which the team may have decided could also have been unappealing to us) in order to accommodate our taste.
Our servers, who worked as a team, made themselves relatable while maintaining professionalism. They were attentive but they didn’t hover. They asked for feedback on the dishes, and a conversation with the manager (I believe) after dinner confirmed that the feedback is used to influence changes to the menu, which changes almost monthly.
We selected the 8-course menu, but did not opt for the wine pairings. Honestly, we probably should have, as the price is reasonable. The service of courses was well-timed. Our meal lasted a bit over 2 and a half hours.
I won’t get into specifics of every course, as the menu is due to change. However, the rice dish seems to be a crowd favorite, and even without the foie gras, we were very happy with it. I also loved the cod and tomato courses. My partner most enjoyed the pork dish. I also keep thinking about the first dessert course, which was a light, refreshing lychee and rose dish. It was exactly what I wanted after the very savory pork course. That was the moment that I realized how perfectly the menu was sequenced. I also realized at that point that I wasn’t “full” or “stuffed” but that I also wouldn’t leave hungry.
In terms of food, the dishes are complicated; there are a LOT of components on the plate. But they aren’t “weird” or intended to be shocking. They make sense. I once canceled a reservation at Can Roca because I saw reviews that the food didn’t taste good or was served in weird ways that made the experience unpleasant. That’s not the case at Adrian Quetglas. The components, without fail, worked together, hit the 4 pillars, and were texturally pleasing.
We appreciated small touches (like an offer to call a cab for us) that made us feel like valued guests and not just a number.

Read moreMy experience at Adrian Quetglas was a mix of culinary highs and service lows. The food quality was mostly satisfactory, with some dishes standing out significantly. The seafood and fish options were underwhelming in flavor, lacking the robustness one might expect from such a cuisine. However, the lamb garam masala was a delightful surprise – arguably the best lamb dish I've ever tasted. The sirloin with beetroot and truffles also left a positive impression, demonstrating the kitchen's ability to deliver on more complex flavors.
The dessert selection maintained the high standard set by the main courses, rounding off the meal nicely in terms of taste. However, the overall dining experience was marred by disappointingly poor service. The first course of our seven-course meal took an unacceptable 30 minutes to arrive, during which we had consumed two bottles of water out of sheer waiting.
It became apparent only later that the delay was due to the restaurant waiting for other late guests, who were to be served the same courses. This approach not only impacted our dining experience but also raised questions about the restaurant's customer service priorities. The wait staff's lack of communication, apology, or effort to rectify the situation was particularly disheartening.
Our evening concluded with a bill of 250 euros, which included two tasting menus, wine pairing, and an excessive amount of water (which also saw delays in service). Given the overall experience, this felt steep, leading to a sense of disappointment rather than satisfaction from an establishment of such repute. While the culinary aspects had their highlights, the service aspect left much...
Read moreIt has been a year since I visited Adrian Quetglas in Palma. I waited to write this review to ensure I had time to reflect and process what had happened. With so many amazing reviews, I knew I had to try this place. The food is truly amazing and the service is very polite and professional. Price point is outstanding!
What went wrong? Our server accidentally tipped over my full wine glass while reaching over to my side of the table and got red wine all over my dress and purse. That's ok, we are all human. The staff helped me clean up and I walked back to my hotel to change my clothes. When I got back, I found out that the bottle of wine would be taken care of by the restaurant and we continued dinner. The check comes and the wine is still on the bill. We discuss with the person running the credit card (different than our server) and she replies "Well who spilled the wine?" and wouldn't remove the charge. My party was very understanding until this point and this changed our overall experience. After some back and forth, the wine was taken off the bill but the experience was completely ruined. The bottle was about 30 euros.
If this incident did not occur, I would have given 5 stars for food and service. My group remained polite throughout this ordeal. I think this restaurant needs a better system to address issues regarding customer service. I expect more from a...
