RESPONSE TO THE MANAGER Staff shortages do not excuse rudeness, especially in this industry. As a former manager in hospitality for over 15 years (and who currently manages staff training), a few pointers for you and staff. You do not ignore customers. This is the ABC. You welcome them, seat them and give them a menu. Then you clear other tables and take payments. You NEVER SHOUT at customers, no matter what. No matter what. Especially customers who just walked in and did nothing but ask politely for a table. As a manager, if someone complains, don't try to justify it with staff shortages. Once again, these NEVER justify rudeness. You apologise full stop. And anyway, the staff shortage excuse doesn't cut it. As mentioned in my review, one member of staff was just standing around at the bar and did not look busy at all. If you had serious staff shortages, you should instruct other staff to pitch in and help. Poor customer service all around. AVOID.

ORIGINAL REVIEW We were left waiting at the door for about 5 minutes, as the waiter was clearing tables and taking payments and going back and forth - he looked at us about three times but made no effort to come to see us. Similarly the lady at the bar, who did not look busy, also ignored us. I recently celebrated my birthday at Thalia in Mallorca last week, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding—each dish beautifully crafted with fresh, vibrant flavors that truly showcased the best of Mediterranean cuisine.

The service was exceptional. Both servers went above and beyond to make the evening special, providing warm, attentive, and genuinely caring hospitality. I had made the reservation through OpenTable without mentioning my birthday, yet the staff surprised me with a beautiful gesture. The pianist not only played and sang "Happy Birthday" but even came over to my table to wish me personally—a moment that truly made the evening memorable.

The ambiance at Thalia is stunning, effortlessly chic, elegant, and classy. With its beautiful decor and sophisticated atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for a celebration or a special night out. The location is ideal, and the people are lovely, creating a welcoming vibe from the moment you walk in.

Soy mallorquina y tenía una reserva hecha para cenar con 4 amigas más en el restaurante. Nuestra reserva era a las 20, cuando llegué había 3 mesas más de las mismas características de la mía, dos en el lado de la carretera y 2 entre esas mesas, y el restaurante, me dieron una mesa de las q están más cerca del restaurante, pedí si era posible cambiarnos a una de las que están colocadas más al exterior, ya que estábamos en ola de calor y era insoportable, la respuesta del chico fue que no, que la mesa que le estaba pidiendo era para 7. Me senté y pedí una caña, en ese momento observo que la de al lado, también estaba vacía y preparada para 6 comensales, tal y como estaba preparada la nuestra.. en el momento que me traen la caña, le pregunté al camarero si sería posible cambiarnos a esa mesa, me responde que lo consulta y me dice, cosa que no ocurre, porque allí no aparece nadie, una trabajadora sale a colocar unas lámparas y como ve que estoy mirando hacia el restaurante, me pregunta si quiero algo, le digo, le he comentado a tu compañero si podía cambiarme de mesa pero no me ha dicho nada, me pregunta quién y le dije que el chico que me había traído la caña. La chica entra en el restaurante y tampoco vuelve a salir, para informarme de nada. En ese momento llega un grupo de extranjeros, y el chico que me había atendido al llegar los sienta en la mesa que yo estaba pidiendo, automáticamente se dirige a mí y me dice, lo siento, las mesas no se cambian, a lo que le respondo que no lo veo normal, que aunque la mesa estuviera reservada, he llegado bastante antes y lo he pedido 2 veces, a lo que me contesta, 2 no, lo has pedido 3 veces. Respuesta que no me parece ni medio normal, considero que si llego y está la terraza vacia, teniendo mesas de sobra puedo pedir que me cambien, no veo el problema. Me dijo que las mesas no se podían cambiar y que lo había pedido 2min antes de que llegaran los chicos, evidentemente, porque las veces anteriores no se me había dado respuesta. Llega una amiga, y al acercase a mi me dice, en esta mesa hace muchísimo calor, en esa que está delante de la puerta también preparada para 6 comensales, sale el aire acondicionado, voy a pedir si nos cambian... Mi amiga se acercó a pedirlo, y la respuesta también fue que no, la explicación que le dieron a ella fue que esa mesa se tenia que remontar en 2 horas, ella respondió que remontaran la nuestra, que diferencia hay en remontar una mesa u otra? La respuesta también fue que no, así que finalmente, pedí la cuenta de mi caña, y nos fuimos a cenar a otro sitio. Considero que siendo residentes se tendría que haber tenido en cuenta, probablemente esos chicos no vuelvan más, y al pasar lo que pasó con nosotras, han perdido 5 clientas de Palma que de estar contentas, podemos ir todo el año.
