Never ever judge a book by its cover. We walked past and thought, "Maybe this is a bar for the locals?". But then, we are staying at the hotel across the road and later searched on google for a good restaurant and realized Mavi gets really good ratings. So we went in, surprised by the huge size and number of tables inside. The waitress was relaxed and welcoming. Mavi (they have been going since 1955) is a genuine place that doesn't take it seriously and we loved that. The waiters are attentive and relaxed and kind to all their customers. The food is authentic and gorgeous. The meat is flavoursome, the veggies crunchy and the sauces incredible. Perfect. My little boy didn't finish his burger, and the waiter brought a container in case we wanted to take this with us. So thoughtful!!!! We've spent a week travelling round the island and this is the most genuine food experience we've had. Priced very reasonably (especially compared to the tourist traps on the more popular parts of the island!). We cannot recommend this enough. We are back for desayunar tomorrow. 5 stars across...

New waiter, male, didn't bother to try to explain nor help. I asked "ingles", he said "no". I tried to communicate with him, but after less than 30 secs, he left without saying anything. Later he came back and I just pointed at something. I got lasagne and curry, and it was warm at best. The waiter litterly dropped the plate at my table as he was passing by. He said something, probably "enjoy", in spanish but didn't even look at me while he said it. He said it in the direction he was going.
The food other people got looked great! Sadly I don't know what it was. Went here because of the good reviews other people left. I really hope I was just...

I asked the waitress for an English menu (which they had, yes!) then asked the waitress for her recommendation for tapas. She recommended the piri-piri and the roasted vegetables and potatoes. I’m not a big fish person so I substituted the piri-piri for some shrimp. I ordered both in small portion and it was perfect for just me. It also came with bread and some olives. The meal was absolutely delicious and the service was great! I highly recommend if you would like to try some...
