Japo Santa Catalina ADULTS ONLY (+9) — Restaurant in Palma

I did not put review for my older order, but it feels like it is a time now, as your response to my last review about quality downgrade and food poisoning from your food was extremely arrogant.

Rolls are made up by hand and that is how it should be in Japanese restaurant, but if you can not cut rolls even (or as close even as possible) maybe you should re-consider chefs team and quality control before sending orders out

I used to love fusion idea of yours, but there is a difference between adding some fancy sauce and just topping up sushi with huge amount of mayo based sauces

I should stress your attention, that day sushi I had was my first meal of the day, plus I am a chef myself and I am aware of what is food poisoning, why it happens and how it comes...even if I had food poisoning night before during dinner, I would not be OK for more then 15 hours before it would hit me, so it is 99.9% chance it came from sushi

Indeed, I did contact you via email about the order of 1st of August, attaching pictures, explaining problems, etc. No compensation was provided or offered, just "OK" answer. I wish you could notice that same person is giving you 2nd chance and control last order with extreme caution

Online ordering website where I put my last order worked very bad, I did not get any confirmation that my order was received (had to call you to find out) No survey link were provided as well

Considering the area where the restaurant is located you would expect a better atmosphere. Everywhere nearby was full except here. Despite that, as we saw the pictures of the sushi in advance we decided to give it a try anyways. The conclusion is that eating in a restaurant is not only the food, but the complete experience and this one wasn’t great.

SERVICE: The waitress was nothing special, rather one of those people doing the job because they have to, so not super nice. Additionally to that with a wrong tempo (maybe because we were the only ones) but exactly when we were finishing and still chewing, she already came and took everything from the table (like EVERYTHING, even the napkins). She didn’t even ask if we would like to eat something else (which we would have done maybe, but after that we decided to ask for the bill and go somewhere else to finish dinner and eat dessert and drinks). The preparation of the food was pretty slow considering we were the only people in the restaurant (I don’t want to know how long one has to wait when the restaurant is full…).

FOOD: Concerning the food, the very special sushi like the carpaccio or the surf & turf are surprising with excellent combination of tastes. Presentation is also very good. The rest you can find more or less everywhere.

PRICE: is rather on the high end but I guess that’s what it is for good sushi, but then again I would expect a...

Have been a client of this place for the past 5 years, it has seen a lot of ups and downs, I guess many owners have changed.

Really disappointed with the last orders, looks like the place lost a lot of quality.

Really bad delivery itself, sushi came all mixed up inside the box, falling apart Sushi were cut really uneven, some pieces extremely big, some pieces really small Sushi rolls from same category totally different in size and weight Sushi were rolled very badly, a lot of ingredients sticking out, some pieces unrolled itself Sushi topped up with extreme amount of mayo-style sauces, you can barely taste the fish

During last order got FOOD POISONING after 1 hour of eating sushi, most likely not fresh fish or some other ingredients.

Really sad to write a review like that as we loved this place for many years, but last experiences we had with them made us decide that we wont come back in...
