La Baranda — Restaurant in Palma

We came on a Saturday night and were 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant. The staff were semi-friendly but honestly slightly passive aggressive (when we asked for the bill, the waiter asked why we were ‘rushing off’) and unfortunately the vibes and the food weren’t there. The bravas sauce with the patatas bravas quite literally ketchup (rip), and the fried calamari was genuinely from frozen and could have been onion rings ngl (still not sure), very poor quality for the money - please do better because we felt like we wasted 30 minutes of our time in...

Nice little Italian restaurant on the west side of old town. Service was excellent with special attention as it was a bit of a slow evening. We ordered the pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and the chicken parm. I’m used it the parm being breaded but this one wasn’t and served with a white sauce. It came with potatoes but I substituted pasta. It was good but not what I was hoping for. My wife loved her dish. Worth the visit. There were out of the dessert we wanted but they offered is some limoncello...

Nachdem wir 2 Minuten im Eingangsbereich standen, der Kellner mehrere Male in unsere Richtung geschaut aber uns keinerlei Beachtung geschenkt hat, haben wir uns direkt an den ersten Tisch gesetzt. Darauf kam plötzlich der Kellner zu uns bat und unfreundlich an einen anderen Tisch und wirkte sehr aufgebracht. Hat sogar das Tablett auf die Bar gehauen. Ich weiß nicht ob dies an unseren "Fehlverhalten" lag oder woran auch immer. Das hat uns aber zu Anfang sofort ein sehr schlechtes Gefühl gegeben.

Nachdem der Kellner sich dann scheinbar beruhigt hatte, hat er unsere Getränke wünsche aufgenommen. Nicht nett aber auch nicht unhöflich. Essen wurde dann auch bestellt, eine Pizza und einmal Lasagne. Beides kam recht flott und war frisch gemacht. Die Pizza war in Ordnung für den Preis, aber nicht überragend. Die Lasagne war leider weniger gut, viel zu viel und dick Bechamel sauce drauf. Wir wussten kurz nicht ob es sich um Kartoffelbrei handelt. Dabei ein relativ kleines Stück für den Preis.

Nachdem wir gegessen hatten und die Rechnung wollten, war der Kellner sogar relativ nett. Was umso mehr die Frage aufwirft warum er zu Anfang zu gereizt war.

Für ne Pizza kann man mal hingegen, die Atmosphäre ist sehr schön und altmodisch. Ist aber meiner Meinung...
