S'Olivera — Restaurant in Palma

We had a stop for lunch at this place (initially I was in doubt to eat here due to having a bad mood, but I am glad we did). I ordered the Salmon S Ólivera style, which exceeded my expectations and even the illustration on the menu card. The Salmon was served with a varying range of vegetables and an amazing (teriyaki?) sauce. Julian was our waiter and we were very pleased with his service. He was very friendly and aware of our signals, making our stay even better - his communication skills were great (English). We ended our dinner with a coffee, which was very good as well. First of all, there was no interest in us when we arrived at the restaurant. We waited for a few minutes to be seated, but then we kindly asked if there were any available seats for four. One of the waiters just waved his hand at his colleague with a bit of attitude, giving us a disrespectful feeling of not really caring. We managed to be seated. We scanned the barcode to order some food, but none of the staff paid any attention to us while we waited to be served. I kindly asked if we could place an order, but we waited for 20 minutes with no response.

We eventually left without any food or drinks, feeling disrespected and without any service. I would not recommend this...

Very busy, but maybe as it came up first on my searches for somewhere to sit and eat, that could be the reason? The first waiter was clearly busy as a little gruff, then a young girl served us after, and she was very pleasant. I've marked down on service for the man. Otherwise, it would have been higher as she was excellent. The location is great for a sit and watch, especially if you bag a front seat as we did. Our 14 year old growing son needed feeding as 'hangry' and really enjoyed a steak here.. They also have great chips, which my husband and I shared. A little like a fat crisp.. So good!
