First of all, the views the restaurant has are beautiful. Me and my girlfriend were awed with the view, and started to wonder why the restaurant was so empty, which we came to realize later. First we ordered some drink which were fine, then we ordered a mix with nigiri and sashimi that included 15 pieces. We asked the waiter what fish or really an idea of what plate brought, and the only thing she knew was that it brought salmon, tuna and crab. We went ahead and ordered the plate. When it arrived instantly we knew that this place was a cocktail restaurant not a place to get food. It came with three nigiris 4 pieces of sashimi and 8 pieces of sushi ( which cost 25 euros) . First we tried the nigiri which had no taste really, i only tasted the soy sauce, then we went on to the sashimi and that is really when it went down hill. My girlfriend was the first to try it, and after about 3 seconds of chewing she started making faces and spit it out on her napkin. She told me the tuna was weird so i tried a little corner and DEFINITELY it was not okay for consumption. We are very big sushi people and this was the worst experience we've had. The color was off, the texture too and the taste was not okay, we did not eat any of the pieces. The sushi rolls were flavorless and were basically fake crab and rice( keep in mind we ordered a sashimi and nigiri mix ). When we asked for the check we let the waiter know that the fish did not taste safe for consumption. She went to the back and talked to the manager whom came out to talk to us. He said they tasted the fish, and "el sushi master" ( which I can tell you that this place doesn't look like they have one) said it was perfectly okay. He then insisted that it was extremely fresh fish, that it could have come out like that because of the temperature of the weather, which has absolutely nothing to do with the quality and freshness of fish, unless it is not being refrigerated! He kept on saying the fish was okay and really came out quite rude. The total bill for two cocktails and the terrible sushi mix was 50 euros. Overall the place is amazing for the views and a cocktail or bottle of water, but the food is absolutely terrible and the staff ( specially...
Read moreFirstly I would say is not friendly for bariatric people at all. I have explained to the supervisor waiter that I have a surgery and my stomach is very small and I can only eat small portions or kids meal. “Supervisor waiter replied to me I am small and have a small stomach and cant eat too much also” that is just rude. Showed my card from GP and I have told her to provide me some advises on food. She went to speak with a a guy inside the restaurant probably owner or a guy who probably was in charge with the place and never came back but instead 2 different waiters came to my table to ask me if I am ready to order which is a joke. Is just disrespectful and unprofessional, feels like you are not listen and not getting any help from them at all. Secondly Food is not the best compare with the prices. I only recommend it for the view. Do not recommend for food or service. Shame that you treat your customers that way and you just ignore them or...
Read moreAh, Varadero — where the sea view is breathtaking, and so is the complete absence of service. On our last visit, three waiters were standing at the bar, clearly in deep philosophical discussion about why one should serve customers at all. We sat patiently for fifteen minutes, watching them study the art of ignoring guests with admirable dedication.
When attention finally arrived, it came in short, confused bursts — forgotten orders, misplaced drinks, and the occasional vanishing act. The restaurant was nearly empty, but somehow still managed to feel understaffed by enthusiasm alone.
To add to the charm, many tables were left uncleared, creating a delightful “afterparty” aesthetic — bottles and glasses left behind like modern sculptures of neglect.
Such a pity, really. With its perfect location, Varadero could easily be a gem. Instead, it’s a masterclass in how to turn a great view into...
