Lovely, cozy local restaurant for a meal with friends+family. Well located too! We got the menu del dia (menu of the day), which consisted of a glass of Rioja red wine (like Spain's capital of red wine) or beer, bread, soup with bits of jamon (ham), rabo de torro with fries (stewed oxtail--a must try in Spain and especially here right next to a bull's arena!), and mango cheesecake all for 30 euros per person! I really enjoyed the soup and couldn't finish all of my oxtail so the waiter thought there was something wrong with it but I just couldn't eat any more :') Would recommend saving space for the oxtail. The interior was fantastically and completely decorated in Spanish bull fighting pieces--this was my first time seeing such decoration in a restaurant! There are multiple floors and expect to make reservations for large parties and on holidays. We visited on Three Kings Day without a reservation but they let us in because we arrived at noon before their scheduled guests arrived--lucky us! The staff are very nice and the man cutting jamon gladly let me take a photo of him but it sadly came out a little blurry. We got a glimpse of the restaurant when it was filling up because we returned to use the restroom real quick as there were no restrooms in the bull arena museum next door--staff welcomed us back and lots of locals chattering about. Would highly recommend visiting for a meal as it's a great deal (not a tourist trap) and very lovely setting plus location.

Located right by the Plaza de Toros, the restaurant's tavern-style atmosphere, complete with bullfighting memorabilia, transported us back in time. We opted for a selection of tapas-style dishes to share. The smoked sardines on tomato bread were a delicious introduction, the smokiness balanced by the freshness of the tomato. The salmorejo, a chilled tomato soup, was incredibly refreshing, and the grilled goat cheese on seasonal vegetables provided a warm, creamy contrast. For our main courses, we delved into heartier options. The rabo de toro, a classic oxtail stew, was melt-in-your-mouth tender, boasting a rich flavour profile. The solomillo al whisky, a whisky-flamed beef tenderloin, was cooked to perfection, offering a unique and savoury twist. A glass of house red wine complemented the meal perfectly. The service was friendly and attentive, making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. While the decor might be on the simpler side, the focus here is clearly on the fresh, well-prepared food, offering a true taste of Ronda's traditional cuisine.

Don’t come here unless you want to eat bull. First they seemed annoyed we didn’t want wine on a Monday night. Then I ordered one of the few dishes ordering vegetables by asked to ensure there were no mushrooms. I was told they couldn’t cater for it! Seriously? The food is so prepared that you can’t leave mushrooms out of a sautéed vegetable dish? In the end I ordered secreto cut of pork - not one vegetable on the plate. And it was advertised as with soy and teriyaki but came with spaghetti? And the chef clearly has no idea that salt is not needed when you have both salty soy and salty teriyaki - tasty food but the main flavour was salt. I drunk a litre of water! Took 15 minutes and 3x of asking to get the bill and they charged 3.50€ for 2 slices of dried up bread we hadn’t ordered and they didn’t even offer oil with it.

After looking for a restaurant for dinner, the two of us ended up at Romero Ronda. A quaint and old-established restaurant, charming in its own way. There are no small starters on the menu, so the main course came straight away grilled entrecote and ravioli in mushroom sauce. The pasta was unsalted, but you could season it. Unfortunately, I don't drink wine or beer. In restaurants, I usually prefer Coke. Olives were served and 2 large slices of bread. On the bill, this was charged at 2x 1.68€. My husband drank wine and I ordered a second cola. This was ordered but not served. The lady preferred to take photos at the next table and forgot my order. Since I had just finished eating, I didn't need this second Coke. I just wanted to be careful with the bill. The bill came ... and there were 2 colas on it, which we pointed out to the young lady. (It would have been good for us, then there would have been no tip). She ran straight to the boss, ...who said it had been ordered and delivered accordingly. Then I say: look at your video cam, then you can see what your employee is doing and don't blame the guests. I have to give zero points for this impudence....
