Really bad experience overall, not worth the money you pay.
In short: 35€ for a main course, that’s not too bad, but extreme bad service (I don’t even have the words to describe how bad it was). You can find way better restaurants nearby.
The score went from 2 to 1 after our struggles to pay the bill.
Long version.
First struggle: getting a table. You get completely ignored by all the waiters, and they even make the effort to ignore you as much as they can. When you manage to get the attention of one of them, they will tell you that they are not in charge of the setup and you have to wait to get a table (from the manager).
Second struggle (or scam): they don’t ask if you want bread and olives. They put it on your table so fast (and leave as quickly), without asking, that you don’t have the time to say that you don’t want them.
Third negative point: all the dishes are without side dishes. So you get a main course for 25/28€ and you have to add 5/6€ for a side dish. My dish was, literally, “lamb, potatoes and onions”. When asking how were cooked the potatoes, I was told that there was only a “decorative potato and onion”.
One good point: the dishes are not too bad. Not exceptionally good, but they are well cooked.
And finally, fourth struggle: paying the bill. You have to manage to get the attention of someone to get the bill; once you get it, be (very very) patient to pay. We asked someone to get the card machine, who never came. We then moved to the counter, where a waiter told us that he would get to us, and moved to do something else. When asked again, he told us that he wasn’t in charge of the card machine… =_= I told him that we had been waiting for 15+ minutes to pay and that I was going to leave without paying. That made him move to get the card machine… which was on top of the counter.
Side note: The guy who seems to be the manager runs everywhere while the rest of the staff does not seem to know why they are there (and is mostly useless). He should focus on coaching the staff so that the restaurant runs...
Read moreLimited menu, not much. Little choice. A simple side dish such as fries were limp and soft. You would expect more for this type of restaurant. Salad was simple, but tasty. Staff was doing nothing because there were too many staff present. The restaurant was only less than a quarter full. On the advice of the waiter, we were recommended a local dessert which we tried. After both taking 1 bite, we did not eat any of this. It was very sour and was a completely different dessert than what was explained. We politely passed this on and the waiter did his best to arrange something else for us. Actually, we weren't hungry, and we were offered 1 scoop of chocolate ice cream. Because there was no other flavor of ice cream. However, this was not ice cream but a thick mouse. Both desserts were on the bill. Management said that unfortunately that's how it works and that we have to pay for everything. We both work as managers in the Hospitality industry where we manage and coach large teams and this is not a service you want for guests. After the apparent manager came to us, was very clear that he was not going to do anything to solve the issue. Only after I repeatedly said to him that we had never experience such bad service before, and that we would most definitely write a bad review about their restaurant is when he started apologize. He then proceeded to tell us that he would take the second dessert of the bill ( which was the one we ate), and that if we would come back that we would be treated better. Obviously we are not gonna come back there anymore and I would suggest you to spend your...
Read moreLet me start with the only two (possible) 'down sides' of this restaurant (for some people).
They have no 'normal' menu card, but you have to use an 'electronical' one.
The prices are not really 'cheap'.
Said that, everything else was really great!
Their (dry and sweet!) 'house wine' (though they don't like to call it that way for a good reason!) is utmost tasty and elegant, so quality wise not really a 'house wine' indeed, but more like a 'Special Private Selection'!
The food (I don't hope this word isn't impropriate either!) was prepared using all local Canarian ingredients and really delicious; The Iberian Porc and Beef Steak were as tender and tasty as one can get and all side dishes were of that same quality.
Now; Last, but not least (by far!) about the service: We were served by Kau and we really have to say that this place wouldn't be the same without her! Her friendlyness, enthousiasm, good communication and great assistance and advise were really adding a great deal to our culinair experience!
Would we come back next time? You bet we would, and hopefully we will have the pleasure of meeting Kau there...
