I'd be happy to take you to our evening at this restaurant. We're two young couples in our 20s and 30s. After enjoying a few drinks at a cocktail bar, we were looking for a place where we could have a quiet and relaxed dinner. The condition was that it should be quieter and more upscale than most bars in Playa del Inglis.
Our eyes landed on El Churrasco. Once we arrived, we felt quite underdressed. There was a doorman at the door in a sharp suit, and we were all dressed casually. In fact, I was even wearing a cap.
Once inside, we were seated at a table in the inner area, there was plenty of staff around, and they were all impeccably dressed. They were wearing suits or neat blouses with scarves. We ordered a refreshing glass of water, and a few of us had a starter. So far, everything seemed fine, and we even felt slightly underdressed.
But that quickly changed. After placing our order (two hamburgers, a salmon salad, and pasta), sauce was dumped on our table within minutes. Tomato ketchup, Heinz, in a packet, combined with white packets of ordinary mayonnaise. From this point on, things went downhill rapidly.
Within three minutes of ordering, our food arrived. The plate with the salmon salad was cold, the pasta itself was warm, but the pasta sauce was also cold, and both burgers were mixed up and lukewarm. The food was ridiculously bad and poorly presented. The chic and underdressed vibe at the beginning quickly turned into a terrible experience.
From that moment on, we couldn't contain our laughter. We felt sorry for anyone who arrived very dressed up, unaware of what awaited them. A sharp suit or an elegant dress seemed necessary, but it was far from it.
This is just an ordinary steakhouse dressed up in fancy attire. Don't expect proper etiquette or an upscale experience because it's not. And to top it off, you also have to pay €2 per person for the obligatory bread you get beforehand and get beer served in a wineglass (I can't)
Only go here if you just want an ordinary meal, but avoid it if you're looking for an elegant dining experience. It's a wolf in...

An Argentinian steak house that advertises Malbec by the glass but won't sell it and if you want a white by the glass like my partner did then avoid altogether as both options taste of window cleaner, order something else. The beer is a good alternative.
Do not go by the online menu nor menu outside of the resutrant. The one actually on offer given to you when seated is totally different. There are only two premium steaks sold at 500gm to 1kg. The manager can't tell you the difference between an entrecote and a chop steak, and won't tell you the garnishes on offer.
I ordered fries with a 300gm entrecote steak which they supposedly will sell to order but only will do in 250gm or 300gm. Ordered sautéed vegetables and they were the boiled to mush type.
When they brought the bill I refused to pay for the white and the veg as it was awful (this is the first time I've ever refused to pay for food and am someone who has eaten 50p thai green curries down the back streets of bangkok). This resulted in a confrontational response from the manager - something that was oddly palpable from the moment we arrived, as the reception and service had a very strange passive aggressive edge. Bread is brought without request and charged at 2 euro a roll. Water is a very small 500cl bottle from the adjoining Hotel that costs more than a glass of wine.
Rest of the food, bread (rubbish, stale hotel leftovers), garlic shrimp (poor, burnt garlic), steak and fries (OK, underweight, over fatty and very, very greasy). My partner had fried mushrooms (just greasy batter) and sea bass (good size but not fresh).
Overall, the worst meal of a 7 day stay by far. Don't trust the 5 star reviews. Scroll down and you will see plenty of other reviews similar to this (wish I had noticed this before going!), none of which have received any reply from the owner which tells you how...
Read moreCame here on my final night of my holiday with my girlfriend, we thought the place looked lovely and have visited Maspalomas several times but never been, so it seemed fitting for our last night. As a kitchen manager in the UK i have a professional knowledge of resteraunts and was excites to eat here.
I ordered a fillet steak, and asked for it to be cooked medium rare, with chips and a steak sauce, my partner ordered a ceaser salad. Both meals came out after around 5-7 minutes (no where near long enough to cook a fillet mid rare) the steak was less than blue. Completely jelly like raw throughout and only sealed on the outside, fridge temp and ice cold to the touch in the centre. It came plated with chips and sauce the whole meal looked boring and plain. No garnish or veg on the side, not something you would expect for €30+ all in.
My girlfriends salad (pictured below) was beautiful, however drenched in sauce and the chicken was far to overcooked, rock hard to eat. When i asked suites waiter if my steak could be cooked more he was rude and walked away with the meal before i could finish talking, the steak was brought back cooked to rare, not mid rare as ordered, fortunately as a proffessional grill chef, i enjoy a rare steak and it was a pretty good cut, the sauce was lovely, but the attitude and prices and poor cooking the first time round ruined it. I begrudgingly paid the bill and left.
Seems like the food here is good but its not quality checked before being...
