This was previously a 5 star review, and my favourite restaurant in Santa Cruz. Sadly it appears to be under new management and my most recent experience there was extremely disappointing. My husband and I ordered the same thing we always order, a platter of a variety of sushi rolls. The waitress immediately insisted that I was mistaken and that what I was ordering was sashimi. I showed her the number of the item I wanted on the menu and that it was a different dish from the two sashimi platters higher up in the menu, and she agreed that she understood that what I was ordering was sushi rolls. She even provided an example of one roll that would come on it. When the food arrived, it was the sashimi I had specifically said I didn't want, and not the item number I provided from the menu. I told her there was a mistake and she insisted again that I didn't know what I was talking about, and took the sashimi pieces back to the kitchen where they cooked the fish pieces before turning them into the worst sushi I ever had, warm with PETA ZETAS on them. 115 euros to have my intelligence insulted and my afternoon ruined. And that's without mentioning the atrocious menu changes. All the traditional sushis have been replaced by westernised gimmicky garbage like "manchego/serrano roll". Yeah, good luck with that. I won't be...

The waiters are very friendly and polite and even greeted us the next day when we visited a restaurant on the other side of the street, the next day.
The restaurant has been decorated very carefully. From the cherry blossom decoration on the ceiling, the light setting, the plates and of course the lovely music playing in the background. Everything creates a setting for a great dinner.
Of course the most important part is the food. The food is great. One of the best sushi restaurants I visited in the canary islands. I personally can recommend the tuna tartar and the butter fish nigiri. To be honest, nothing is a bad choice!
The restaurant does not have many tables, when we visited for the first time, we had to wait 5 minutes. Which was no problem of course. I can't wait to go...
Read moreOur experience here was mixed. we called last minute for a table on a Friday evening, 15 minutes later we had a table (upstairs though, I think downstairs and outside are probably nicer areas). The food tasted good, favourite being the San Fran role. The food took long to arrive and so did our drinks, which appeared to have been forgotten, once asked for they did arrive quickly. It was quite messy at all tables upstairs, long waiting for food, not knowing which table the dish was for and a lot of back and forth between the staff - who were friendly at the table but I think were being trained on the job. I also found the place quite expensive: 12-18e for an 8 piece role, almost 8e for 4 gyozas (they did taste like freshly handmade), the price wouldn’t have bothered me if the service had...
