A recent visit to this restaurant left us with mixed feelings. The establishment offers a good variety of dishes, and we decided to try two: the pulpo a feira and the Arroz a banda "Luras e Langostinos." The pulpo a feira was decent, although the consistency of the octopus pieces varied, with some needing more cooking time. This could be a personal preference, but it did affect the overall experience. The main issue arose with the Arroz a banda "Luras e Langostinos." Despite the name, the dish contained no langostinos. When we brought this to the staff's attention, the chef's response was unexpectedly dismissive. He mentioned that we should be grateful for being served at 4 PM and did not address our concern about the missing langostinos. It turned out they had run out of langostinos and substituted extra shrimp without informing us. We suggested that informing customers beforehand would have allowed us to choose another dish. The chef advised that we should instruct the server not to make substitutions next time, which we found to be an unhelpful response. Although the chef instructed the server to cancel the dish from our bill, the cashier refused to do so. We paid and left, feeling disappointed. In summary, while the menu offers variety, the inconsistent food quality and lack of communication from the staff left much to be desired.

A food market in Santiago with many different food and drink stores. Select any type you want and sit at large communal tables to enjoy. There are cheese, ham and wine, japanese, italian, gallego, hamburgers, octopus (pulpo gallego) potatoes in all forms, rice and seafood and vegetarian and vegan stores. There is also coffee, pastries, crapes and icecream. Now, of course there is a great local and international beer selection - 28 different brands to choose from. And if you like good wine and would like to try different wines from different areas of Spain, here is where this experience awaits you! In upstairs balcony you will find cocktails - sit down at a small table and look down at the crowds below sipping on your cocktail.

"Delicious patatas gajo - potato wedges, so crunchy! Menu is slightly odd in that there are no descriptions of the food - just the name of it. Lots of different styles of food, all served in the same seating area, great way of tasting lots of different cuisines." I went here the first night I was here, and loved the food, went somewhere else, had a disappointing experience, so came back here for the third night. It was terrible. The wait staff were very unattentive - the first night we put that down to us being foreign, and not knowing what was going on, but this time we knew how it worked, and they were still uninterested and slow. The food was awful. I ordered the prawns "gambas ao allo" and they turned up in a metal tin, stinking of fish, and tasting rubbery. The "sauce" was the water they were boiled in, and there were about four shreds of garlic in there. All for €13,90 My partner ordered the Poke Atun, and it was like someone had explained the concept of Poke, but not well. So he had rice, flavourless lumps of tuna, and some cucumber slices, tomato, and grated carrot. TLDR; Order the patatas gajo, and leave.

Careful, this is a tourist trap, well kinda and kinda not. Let me explain: If you are here to drink craft beers which are fairly priced and want to eat some fries, then this place should get 4 out of 5 stars. The potata gajos are great and the beers too. But! the staff doesn't speak English and therefore also can't tell you about the beers you are trying to order. Also, they can't explain the menu or concept to you, plus there is only one hard copy of a menu. You feel like they want to get rid of non spanish speaking people and non Spanish tables are not serviced much. This is supposed to be a hip place but they are missing that hip places are designed for an international audience. And it's definitely aimed at an international audience as the food is way below average compared to the usually found excellent quality of restaurants and food in Santiago. The prices are international and far overpriced compared to other restaurants. The portion size is small and the taste is boring and even looks boring. Except the fries, which are great!

Enjoyed the food and the armosphere, staff were friendly. Menus should be updated however as prices are unclear. On the website the rib platter was priced at about 20 but in fact on the bill came out at about 40. We did ask when purchasing but the incorrect price was not rectified or pointed out, resulting in a higher price than initially expected. Seemed after 30 minutes no one wanted to take responsibility to deal with sorting it out which seemed a bit unprofessional. We paid the full price but think it could have been managed better. Other than that , the food was good and it's a great Mercado to visit.

Mercado La Galiciana offers a delightful culinary experience. The restaurant's ambiance is cozy, and the service is attentive. The menu showcases a diverse range of Galician dishes, highlighting the region's flavors. From seafood to traditional meats, the food is prepared with care and presented beautifully. The wine selection perfectly complements the dishes. However, portion sizes can be inconsistent, and prices are on the higher side. Overall, Mercado La Galiciana provides an enjoyable taste of Galicia, making it a worthy dining option for those seeking authentic Spanish cuisine. I would recommend.
