I really don't know how to start to review this "hotel". Me and my two other girlfriends booked a triple for Saturday night only, we were really looking forward to our experience all together in Santiago and I booked this boutique hotel because of the good reviews, the position and the fact that I am always looking to try boutique style since my family has the same business. Said that, we are now horrified from the treatment we received and we are still receiving. One of my friend unfortunately forgot a pair of brand new shoes in the toilet just under the towels, black, Vans, number 39! Me and the other friend saw them last time in the loo but unfortunately the shoes owner didn't realise that and she remembered only on our way to A Coruna (a city close to Santiago) ; when she called the hotel ( just few hours after we checked completely the car just in case) the receptionist was very rude and unhelpful, without even checking she assumed that the shoes were not there and that my friend was lying. Then she asked the housekeeper who " strangly" didn't find any shoes who for sure 100% were in the toilet as I said before just under the towels!!!! But not, she kept saying that maybe one of her friends ( me and the other) TOOK THE SHOES!!!! Are we serious? Really this is the " how to be polite policy" such a boutique hotel should have??? But it's not finished just yet, my friend again since she was really upset not only for shoes at this stage but for the awful treatment she received, so she called again this morning and spoke to the " Director" who unbelievably was even worse than the receptionist. He asked for our nationalities (myself and the other girl) assuming we took the shoes, and asked if she trusted us! What????????????? I am still in shock while I am writing, I cannot immagine someone worse that this man, unrespectuful, unhelpful and rude. I am feeling very offended as my other friend too, there is not justification for their behaviour, they never never and never apologied. Trey treat us as liars, stealers and I don't know what more. I would never go back and I would do all I can in my power as hotelier and traveler to spread the word that this false boutique hotel won't take care of you at all, without empathy and assistance, basically all the opposite of a concept of a boutique hotel or any other customer environment oriented. Felling sorry for my friend since I decided to book there, 120 euro for the night plus breakfast plus 80 euro of shoes! Well catch Capitol boutique hotel ;) P.s. Since you assumed that her friends took the shoes in first place I would now suggest you to look a bit closer in your own " family " because for sure there is something wrong. Last thing, two Italians and one galician..so WHAT???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Read moreThe hotel is clean and has nice modern decor with a good Spanish style breakfast and the location is great for the Cathedral and old town. However, I was quite disappointed. It was noisy in our rooms from club music next door and from the vibrating garage door opening and closing immediately below room 102. Our other room 101 (2 couples) had an annoying flickering blue light above the door that was disturbing all night. We taped paper and a black mask over it but it still glowed and flickered. The front desk help was kind, but the woman we asked for help finding laundry, restaurants and local tours wasn’t well informed and gave pretty poor guidance. The man at the desk the next day was very good and super helpful, so it was probably one inexperienced employee. If we weren’t so tired of moving hotels every night during our 14 day Camino hike, I would have moved hotels. But we made the best of it and...
