Wherever you go in Santiago, the quality of the ingredients is always exceptional. What really sets places apart is the service, the presentation, and the balance of flavors.

This time, I ended up at Pepa a Loba — a legendary spot in Santiago with its own local myth.

The salads were incredibly complete, tasty, and substantial. If I’m being picky, I’d reduce the amount of Modena vinegar — a common issue in many places. The burgers? Top-quality meat and Galician bread — what more could you ask for? Just a heads-up: the meat comes medium rare by default, so if you prefer it well done, be sure to ask. Personally, I love it this way — juicy and cooked just right. The croca steak is exactly what it should be: no frills, just spectacular flavor and tenderness. Cooked to perfection.

The place felt cozy and warm, and the open kitchen and the cooks reminded me of childhood — a lovely nostalgic touch.

Big thanks to the staff for finding me a table on one of the busiest days in Santiago! That said, the service could be a bit more friendly — something to improve on. Also, be aware that the wait time can vary a lot… from 5 minutes to 50. Bit of a lottery, especially during festival season when...

It's a cozy location and behind on a smaller street with not as much foot traffic. Very good coffee and friendly service. We had breakfast here as well which was good. I am usually not a fan of friend food but their potatoes here are fried so you might want to know that before you order. The food was delicious so I assume they use great ingredients. We sat by the window for a while and I was doing some work on my laptop. They have good wifi since the cell connection is a bit weak in these older stone buildings. Outside seating is great too but it was...

I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was very busy. There was space for me at a tiny bar table against the wall. When I saw how small the kitchen was with just 2 cooks and one waiter and then I realized the number of people inside and the full terrace, I nearly left because I was sure that it would be slow to get food. I was wrong. They do an incredibly efficient job of getting good food out very fast. I was impressed. I just had a burger and a glass of wine and was very happy. I'd definitely...

We visited the place for lunch and it was nice enough. The food tasted good and the portions were big. On the other hand, the waiter seemed to be in a hurry to take the order and the whole interior smelled like food (probably the exhaustion didn't work that well). Overall a pleasant finding.
