Hotel is in a good location, just outside the old city of Santiago de Compostella. Hotel is on the side of a hill. Pedestrian/car access to the city is therefore steep but there are beautiful views from the hotel's windows. Having free parking on site for hotel guests is a boon. ||The hotel room was quite large by city standards. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern. Our room was at the back of the hotel, overlooking the school football pitches. There was some noise from these, as children were being given football coaching, which continued until quite late at night, with floodlights on too. However, there were also beautiful views from the room's windows. You could request a quieter room at the front, overlooking the car park if you are bothered by noise but of course there would not be the great view.||Breakfast consisted of a small buffet, which provided all necessities: fresh and tinned fruit, yoghurt, cereal, ham and cheese, baked goods, juice, hot drinks. ||There did seem to be a bit of a problem with damp in some of the hotel rooms. The corridor smelled musty, our bathroom became very wet while we were out during the day and a dehumidifier was being used in one room. However, the staff reacted quickly when we reported the problem in our bathroom.||The staff were very helpful...
Read moreThe rooms were adequate but the customer service was beyond terrible. Before arriving I had an accident which required minor surgery and my arm was completely bandaged with wound dressing. When I checked into the hotel I noticed a lift for handicapp,a small lift that travels along the railing of the steps. I asked if I could use the lift to transfer my 3 bags to the second floor. They told me no as they had no time even when they noticed I only had use of one arm. I told them ok I will need to make 3 trips as I could only carry one bag at a time. At that point they said they would help.||Even worse on the day of checkout early in the morning I had asked the same question to the clerk at the reception desk and she rudely said no and that she had no time as she had to get ready for breakfast. She noted that I was quite irritated and eventually helped as I said I would do it myself although I only had use of one arm. What makes the customer service more than terrible is that both incidents were with 2 different clerks. Is this a standard with this hotel?||I have told our travel agent about the incidents and should we continue with further Pilgrimages that we definately don't want to be booked into this hotel. Some may think I am exsadurating but my travel companions were treated the...
Read moreThis is definitely a budget hotel, but the rooms are reasonably large and are very clean. Staff are generally helpful. For me, it was quiet; I was on the left side of the hotel, which faces the parking lot. My travel companions were on the right side of the hotel, which looks onto a park and has a nice view. The downside of this is that there is a games field in the park right by the hotel, with lights, and teams were practicing there (loudly) until at least 11 PM on the night we were there. If you want quiet, the parking lot side may be preferable.||||One of the main benefits of this hotel if you have a car is the free parking. You get here down a narrow one-way street, turning left through an archway about halfway down the street into the parking area. The hotel is on the east side of parking area.||||Another benefit is the location quite close to the old city. It's a fairly short (about 700 m) and interesting walk through the old town to the cathedral.||||Breakfast was pretty basic, but still adequate - yogurt, some fresh fruit, bread for toast, cereal and milk,...
