We ordered food to go this evening and I went and picked it up—it was ready in 10 minutes—amazingly fast! Pizza diábolo, fettuccine with red sauce (no meat), minestrone, and burrata. When I got home I realized the pasta sauce had meat in it so we called and asked them for a new one. We went back to the restaurant and showed them the pasta. It turns out it was completely my mistake and there was no meat in the sauce. Everyone was very concerned that they had served the pasta with meat and came to look and check in on us. I was so embarrassed for my mistake. The little pieces in the sauce were the tomato seeds/chunks of garlic…anyways…They treated us so well and even had made me a new pasta by the time we arrived. I felt so bad about the mistake that we sat and ate both pastas and paid for the new one, as well, of course. They were so accommodating and patient with us. Not only to comment on the great service by everyone, the food was amazing. Both the pizza, soups, and burrata which we ate at home and also the pasta at the restaurant. Homemade everything, even the noodles.
Highly recommend this place for a great experience...
Read moreSurprisingly terrible interaction with the woman who seated me. She actually reprimanded me, and I think attempted to shame me, for ordering agua del grifo (tap water) rather than bottled water. She told me the restaurant would have to close it's doors if everyone ordered agua del grifo.
What if she'd said that to someone who couldn't afford to pay for bottled water, instead of someone (me) who just wanted a small glass of water rather than a whole bottle and then would have ordered dessert and an after-dinner drink? (Which I didn't order, and I won't be back.)
The truly awkward part was when another employee who spoke English came to my table to try to explain the restaurant's case, so I would be sure to understand my offense. The thing is, restaurants in Spain are required by law to serve free tap water to customers. Perhaps they should take it up with their government, not with customers who will write negative reviews and...
