I don't want to review Ricca because I don't want others to find it.
But that's not fair on the restaurant , the absolutely lovely professional staff and the delicious food they produce.
Inside it is light, airy and comfortable. We had a complementary amuse bouche which set our expectations high and they were well and truly met.
I had pizza and the dough of the pizza was full of flavour and had a proper charred Neapolitan style crust. It had absolutely the correct amount of good quality toppings. I tried everyone else's pizzas (for research purposes). And they were all great.
We were recommended a dessert made with ricotta and toasted wheat. It was simple but delicious and perfectly executed. I've had the very same Italian dessert cooked at Easter by a chef from Naples and the one at Ricca was just as good.
We felt so lucky to get a reservation here during Santa Semena. I think we only managed to get a table because it's a new restaurant.
So go quickly, before...
Read more2 of us families visited on 27th Dec, considering the fantastic reviews, our hopes were high. The restaurant is almost empty, still we are waiting 2nd in the queue. After about 5 mins we are the only one waiting. Nothing wrong, it looked like they were under staff. But we had patience and hopes. After few mins we are greeted by a staff and told unfortunately they don't have space ! Now that's not true as you can see empty tables. We accepted and about to leave. Just at that very moment a family of four with arrives. I somehow thought to see what happens. There was conversation, and table was given. Now I was not happy!!! I objected and was given diff reasons like we asked for table for 8, they only have table for 3, then I said I will take that, then staff says there is only table for 2.. !!!
We know you didn't want us in, but don't know why? We were in Spain from Barcelona to Málaga, 11 days and everyone been so friendly.. except...
Read moreBefore going to a new place I like to read the negative comments left by users. The few that i've read for Ricca mention that it's not the typical pizzeria, too modern, too posh. This blows my mind. The whole point of this business is to offer something different, something with a lot of reaserch, work and investment behind. If you want the typical pizza place with Maradona pictures on the walls and stereotypical music playing, then Ricca is not for you. You have many places that offer you that; here instead it's like eating a michelin star pizza. Starting from the decor that impresses you as soon as you arrive to the wonderful menu offered. I could count in one hand experiences lived like this in Italy, it is really unique. Believe me, give it a go, you'll understand how even a "simple" dish as pizza can be evolved to...
