The food was a 5/5 but unfortunately, the service was a bit unpleasant. We ordered a juice, two espresso drinks, the Spinach Mushroom Toast, the Bacon and Eggs Benedict and a Greek Yogurt Fruit Bowl. When we were served, the waitress (a different one from which we had placed the order) had an extra dish, a chicken sandwich of sorts. We told her we had not ordered it and that our second espresso drink was missing. She seemed a bit upset and took the plate away. The server that initially took our order came to the table and told us that we had in fact, ordered the chicken sandwich dish. I repeated that no we had not. She then pointed and my non-Spanish speaking husband and said that he had ordered the sandwich. Spanish is my first language and I was there the entire time. None of us ever even uttered the word chicken. Plus, there was no way we could have ordered/eaten a fourth entree. After that it was just uncomfortable and maybe it’s just a difference in cultures but we didn’t appreciate that unwarranted gesture and accusation. If we had ordered it, we gladly would have accepted, eaten and...
Read moreThe French waitress we had was really nice and patient. There was a male waiter/bus boy who was terse and churlish, barking commands about where we should stand and that there was a line. They have a sign posted about waiting outside to be met and seated, but it's hung so low you would need the power of xray vision to see it through the seated diners. All in all the high strung camarero made me feel on edge for the entire meal. As we were standing to leave, but still waiting for our companion who went inside to use the toilet he barked, "did you pay?" At us, as if he were accusing us of dining and ditching. Clearly there was no communication between him and the French waitress who had served us and who we paid already. I won't be revisiting...
Read moreReally nice and not too touristy-seeming place (even though it’s right in the city centre)! The atmosphere and interior are lovely and the prices really reasonable. After our first time we came back on our way back home a week later and tried the sandwiches after having tried the Veggie and Caprese Bagel our first time. I have to say that the bagels were way better though and wouldn’t recommend the sandwiches (at least not the Avocado one). The normal tostadas also looked nice!! The food might not be THE best but it’s a great place to have a good breakfast in a cool café in the centre for pretty cheap (you can get a bagel and a drink for under 10€) and the bagels are very good! My favourite was the Caprese one. The staff was also...
