El gallego TAPAS — Restaurant in Toledo

Great experience! We run out of ideas where to go for lunch and it was already quite late, but we found this place on the touristic map of the city which we got in the touristic information. Normally this kind of places are touristic traps. I was sceptic about the idea, but after checking few reviews and see some pictures we decided to go. We were attender immediately and we sat in a nice dining room (with white tablecloth) ;) We went for the daily menu of cost 12€ with first course, second course, bread, drink and desert/coffee included. We got bottle of wine, but we asked for only two glasses- I asked a waiter and he said that this is included! Wow...bottle of decent table wine included in 12€ menu pp. 😍 They were still quite busy, but the food didn't take long to be served. Was delicious and good portions... I ordered by confusion of languages a dish thinking that was something else and the waiter asked me a several times if I want to change it, but I decided to keep it and it was delicious! What also surprised me was the atmosphere in the restaurant...random customers passing by our table wishing us a good meal and smiling, greeting us when they were living the restaurant...we felt like at home...! Thank you guys for beautiful afternoon and I hope you will keep it this way because you are doing great job!...

COMIDA BASURA!!....ES UNA PENA QUE UN LOCAL QUE SE LLAMA GALLEGO TAPAS DE UN SERVICIO Y COMIDAS DEPLORABLE!!! MANCHANDO EL NOMBRE DE GALICIA GRATUITAMENTE. VISITANDO TOLEDO CON MI FAMILIA AYER DIA 22 DE DICIEMBRE DE 2024 DECIDIMOS IR A COMER Y NOS ENCONTRAMOS CON ESTE BONITO NOMBRE EN LA PUERTA DE UN BAR,LO QUE ME HIZO PENSAR EN EL ESTUPENDO VERANO GASTRONOMICO QUE PASAMOS. ENTRAMOS Y PEDIMOS DE PRIMERO PAELLA DE MARISCO!!!....Y TAL CUAL EL TEXTO.... 1 LANGOSTINO DEPRIMIDO ENCIMA DE UN PEGOTE SECO DE ARROZ ESO SIIIII,CON UN PUÑADO DE CILANTRO Y OTRO DE MAHONESA DE AJO QUE LE APORTANA EL SABOR QUE LE FALTABA AL ARROZ. EN EL MIO TUVE SUERTE Y TENIA UN ARO DE CALAMAR EXTRA QUE IMAGINO SERA PORQ SE LE CAERÍA DE OTRO PLATO QUE PASARA POR ALLÍ. CUANDO ESTABA A PUNTO DE TERMINAR EL PRIMER PLATO PASANDO DURAMENTE EL ARROZ POR NUESTRAS GARGANTAS,NOS TRAJERON LA BOTELLA DE AGUA Y LA BOTELLA DE VINO. LAS CROQUETAS DE JAMON HE DE DECIR QUE ESTANAN BUENAS PORQUE SE LAS COMIERON MIS HIJOS SIN DECIR NADA. PERO YO QUE HABIA PEDIDO CROQUETAS DE CARABINEROS, ERA PENOSO!!...NO ESPERABA QUE LA CROQUETA LLEVASE CARABINERO PERO AL MEMOS SI LLEVASE EL CALDO DE ALGUNA CABEZA PARA DARLE SABOR A MARISCO. LAS CROQUETAS SABIAN MAS BIEN A HARINA TOSTADA CON ABUNDANTE PIMEMTON Y NO LLEVABA SABOR ALGUNO A MAR .PODRIAN HABERLAS LLAMADO IMITACION DE CROQUETAS DE CARABINEROS. EN FIN...MIS HIJOS SE REIAN DE LO QUE ESTABA PASANDO ERA TODO COMO UNA BROMA DE MAL GUSTO. MIS HIJOS SE LEVANTARON Y MI PAREJA IGUAL PUES NO QUERIAN SEGUIR COMIENDO MAS BASURA Y POR LO TANTO NO LLEGAMOS A LOS POSTRES. PEDI LA CUENTA Y NOS MARCHAMOS. NO SIN ANTES PAGAR TODO. CONSIDERO UNA ESTAFA LA COMIDA .POR MUCHO MENOS HEMOS COMIDO Y MUCHO MEJOR EN OTROS SITIOS .UNA PENA QUE ESTE TIPO DE LOCALES SE APROBECHEN DEL NOMBRE DE GALICIA. HAY QUE ACABAR CON ESTOS LOCALES BASURA.. TODO LO DICHO LO HABLE CON CAMARERA Y...

Paella was extremely good & some of the best that we have tasted. Never ate Tapia before and decided to try it. It was cooked well & tasted very clean, it tasted like scallops but the texture is a little bit rougher. The servers were very friendly & provided us with great service.
