As I saw their beautiful terrace, I sat there just for a drink in the afternoon and they gave me the most generous sangria glass ever, so I had to get some food (so I wouldn’t get drunk at 5 pm)! The patatas bravas with aioli were totally great but the portion was so huge that I couldn’t even finish it. I recommend both the sangria and the patatas bravas. The 2 types of olives they serve as a side for the drink tasted really good too, I’m an olive lover so that was a nice touch. It’s located in a lovely area where street musicians come and play their songs and there’s a creator/vintage market just next to it. I was able to sit there and read a book for a couple hours and no one rushed me to leave, I appreciated that too. Edit : I went there a second time and tried the eggplants with miso paste and sesame - delicious. Thanks to the french speaking waitress who was helpful that time.

Recommended by a local guide to have Agua de Valencia and it was a very good experience to have it at Bar & Kitchen. It is located at one of central and cutest locations of the city. The terrace outside had calm and relaxing space. Beware that Agua de Valencia is one of those refreshing cocktails you enjoy and then you realize how it hits you when you stand up to leave :) Even 1L being shared by 2 people can shake you well. You can order 1L or 1.5L here. Drinking 1L alone? I would not advise unless you are a long time drinker with high alcohol threshold.

We chose this place based on the high number of good reviews and ordered 3 dishes. The Valencian hummus lacked both lemon juice and garlic, and tasted like you just scraped it out of a can. I lived in the Middle East for over 10 years, so I know my hummus. The areepas were just plain, not bad nor good. The patatas bravas with aioli/tomato sauce were tasty and the portion was big enough for sharing. Total cost with 2 cokes was 25 euro. Service was good and friendly. Ambience was lively. Overall an underwhelming experience.

Avoid this restaurant, the service is terrible. Let me explain. The restaurant is divided in two different parts connected by a large terrace in the middle where they have several tables. One of their two parts/venues has tables inside.

To access any of their outdoors tables they have a number system like in a butcher or a bakery, you pick your number, a screen displays who is next, and then you get allocated to your table.

As we noticed that inside the restaurant all tables were empty, we asked if we could sit inside, they said that everyone was waiting for a table outside and we entered. That's where the chaos began.

Any restaurant, from fancy to casual, has at least a little bit of order on the ranks. A waiter takes care of tables 1-5 another 6-10 etc.. Here nobody was in charge of anything. People was just doing tables as they go, service was way too slow, nobody cared to check if tables where OK. Once your chance to take the order is done, pray for the next time someone would come to the table to ask for something. Good luck having a new round of drinks, or checking if your food is going to take long, nobody cares.

Waiters seemed tired. They are basically young people who probably is exploited by long working hours. During the service we saw a waiter (first) and a cook (later) having dinner in front of us in one of the inside tables. In the middle of the service! Everybody knows staff only eats before or after service is done, never during. It shows how poorly organized they were.

We saw a procession of people going to the bar to ask for their food, or returning dishes because they arrived wrong and nobody cared.

After 45 minutes where we only had our two drinks, and two starters, we got bored of waiting and cancelled our last dish ( I mean 45 minutes for a burger is something I haven't seen in my life) and paid. We had to go to the bar to pay, nobody even bother to apologise once we cancelled.

Is more a tourist trap than anything else. Some dishes are brainless. They served us a Russian salad with prawn crackers. The brilliant idea is to use the crackers to eat the salad, What a terrible suggestion! Crackers got soggy with the moist of the salad and broke in a second. Also the guacamole was served with packaged Nachos, I could even guess the brand.

The only positive thing was we could cancel our last dish without paying anymore for that nonsense. Absolutely...

I asked 3 different waiters if they could get my order and they all ignored our table. We stood there for 20 minutes, watching them chat among each other, get orders from other tables that arrived way after us, but we had to leave because they simply didn't want to get our order.

We sat on an available table (with no "reserved" sign, by the way) and the waiter came and said it was reserved. We apologized and moved right away, respectfully. I asked him if we could order and he said no, said he would come back. Saw him going around carrying plates, chatting. 10 minutes in, no one came back. I stood up, went to the waitress who was chatting with other waiters and asked if I could order. She said no, I needed to wait at the table. We did. 10 minutes more, another waitress come and gets the order of two tables by our side that had just arrived. I ask her respectfully if I can please order and she says no, she would come back. She never came back. We left 🤷

I trusted the Google reviews below, walked 2km with my elderly parents to have a good time and and ended up not even being completely ignored even after asking 3...

Stopped here on reliance of the rest of the reviews. They were fairly busy and no tables were available outside. We said we would wait and ordered a drink inside. After around 20 mins we were approached by a very direct waitress and asked if we were going to order dinner as people were waiting to eat at a table outside. We responded saying we hadn’t seen the menu yet but for now were just having drinks, before being taken to an outdoor table with a menu. About 5 mins later we decided that nothing stood out from the menu (the food looked good, but we can get tacos, etc at home so decided we’d try a Spanish restaurant instead). When I went inside to pay, I was confronted with an aggressive waitress asking why we didn’t order any food. She called out to me across the restaurant causing everyone to stop and watch what was happening. I ignored her and instead asked the guy I was paying whether I had done anything wrong. He apologised. Don’t think this place deserves the ratings it receives. No authentic food and pretty...
