We spent a two evenings at Café La Placita in Valencia and it was absolutely wonderful! The cafe is tucked away in a cozy square with a beautiful church as the backdrop, creating such a charming and relaxing atmosphere.
One of the waiters (we sadly didn't catch his name) made our experience even better with his amazing service. He was super friendly and took the time to recommend local dishes and drinks, explaining everything in detail. Thanks to him, we discovered Torrija and Agua de Valencia and now we're huge fans!
His knowledge of local customs and legends added a special touch to our meals, making our time there even more memorable. We really appreciated his passion for the local cuisine and traditions.

No acknowledgement or greeting nor offer of a menu (waiters even walked past me with a menu but seemed conveniently blind to me). After 5 minutes I called the owner over and asked for a menu; his manner was poor- as if I should wait further until they could condescend to deal with me, that it was all in hand. There's often space here when other places are full. Opposite a church and across the road from the botanic gardens, the plaza has beautiful trees and plants including bird of paradise flowers, and a play area for children.
