La Bodegueta de Joan Llorenç — Restaurant in Valencia

It is really a small neighborhood bar restaurant, with good service. Good Valencian home cooking at a decent price. I must admit I order the Carriadas de Cerdo almost every time because it is available all the hours they are open no matter how early or late. It is pork slow cooked in a vegetable stew with potatoes, carrots, onions and other vegetables that I do not remember. Delicious and tender, no need for a knife. Other bars on the internet say they are open, but that does not mean that you can have a hot meal. At La Bodeguita you can! Every day there is also a Special of the Day but I am not certain if Specials are available all day. You should call and check. I have had a beef stew and also their seafood stew and both very good. The bar was good, the food was tasty enough and we had a decent experience.

What I didn't like was that the menus were not updated, the english and Spanish menus were different from some prices and items.

The price of arroz that I got seemed to be 12.50 eur in the menu, but on the bill it was 14 eur per person?

12 eur for habitas + huevos seems overly expensive. This one I don't recommend.

Some slices of patats bravas portion seemed too expensive for the quantity of potatoes served.

The rice was cooked ok, a bit of more water and less salt would've helped, you can see it's too dry in the attached picture.

The server immediately left the check to pay and stormed off from our table, she expected a tip from us. I couldn't leave any tip considering the inflated prices.

The food is average, price / quality ratio is much more into the favor of a price. Service level is below an expected level: forks fell down on a table while bringing them, the servant just took them with bare hands and left without changing; asked for an ashtray - got it together with a bill; asked for a wifi password - incorrect, and no actions to get it for us.

All above for an extra 10% for a bill, which is insane considering the level of the service provided. Not to say this us not even typical for current location.

To summarize there are definitely better places worth visiting around if you want to spend an evening dining and tasting local cousine in a nice...
