This was the best restaurant we visited during our time in Spain (and the title is strongly contested!). We started with the assorted platter of fish roe, ranging from petal pink discs of cod roe to an intense deep mauve delight (we didn’t catch the name). The smoked swordfish was perfectly balanced, with delicate flavoring yet a distinct earthiness, but the smoked sturgeon really stole the show - I havevery no idea how they cured it but It was fantastically meaty and very more-ish. From their extensive oyster menu, we chose the oyster tempura; this was what really pushed the dining experience from cloud nine into the stratosphere. And for their dessert of the day, a pillowy fried delight much like a Yum Yum, but far lighter and crisper. Best of all, this restaurant was one of the friendliest and most reasonably priced we visited. There is no English menu, so if you don’t speak Spanish I would recommend google translating the menu on their site first. The staff also speak some English but it makes life easier if you don’t have to ask them to translate the whole menu. I haven’t been able to stop talking about Ostras Pedrin. Please open a...
Read more5 stars will never be enough for this back- street gem, it's more like 7 stars, and that's no exaggeration! We discovered it within our first 30min in Valencia, just walking near our hotel. But afterwards we went back every day!
My girlfriend & I fell totally in love with the space, the energy, the ambiance, the high speed but thoroughly charming waiters like Alberto, and the crazy Valencian characters/customers, and of course the exquisite seafood. This seafood bar is an experience, its a local institution.
Now back home in London we're already thinking of when we can go back to Valencia and when we can go back to the best seafood bar we probably...
Read moreJust go here whenever you get the chance. I came here on my first night in Valencia and my god, did it get my holiday off to a great start. We were sat at the bar for our food and the atmosphere was so much fun. We had the selection of fish, oysters and the waitress recommended the smoked eel. I wasn’t sure about the eel at first but when I tasted it, it was very similar to salmon. When I asked her about the desserts, she got another member of staff to chat to us. He was so lovely, had laugh with us and got us to try the desserts as well as shots. There wasn’t a single thing during our visit that we didn’t love. Definitely try the Vermouth de...
