Being someone who has visited your restaurant for brunch a few times, I was rather disappointed today with the level of service and the menu of your Sunday brunch. The menu has been changed, which is good but I felt the menu has not been thought about. as the previous curry combinations have been changed. The pepper beef in the menu came up as a beef curry today, which was the same as the chicken curry. Signature Seeni sambol was not available but we were not even told about this. Instead we were served pol sambol. After the bread was brought and patiently waiting for a while I had to remind the staff for the curries because the bread was getting cold. Salt n pepper was not available at the table and I had to remind a few times but that never came to the table. Food was brought to the table in a very disorganized manner. (felt they served as and when they remembered what we asked for)
The signature lamprais has been swapped with yellow rice but the menu does not include proper curries to accompany yellow rice which then looses the whole idea of having it there. Even the black pork curry is not in the menu. Instead there’s pork stew. Who would want to have pork stew with yellow rice?
The cream caramel was not properly done and was more like a sticky pudding with a raw bottom. I had to remind staff to serve us water, which then came in a jug that had some kind of pieces floating in water when poured and I had to ask to change that.
All in all it was a very disappointing experience. I visited exactly two months ago and it was absolutely great then.
Your lunch rice and curry combinations are way better. May be you need to rethink on the brunch menu.

Cyril Rodrigo’s Green Cabin effortlessly weaves together the authenticity of Sri Lankan flavors and the allure of a speakeasy ambiance. My recent visit was an enchanting experience that left me thoroughly impressed.
The moment I entered, the speak-easy atmosphere transported me to a different era with dim lighting and vintage decor setting the stage.
The culinary journey through Sri Lankan dishes was exceptional, each bite a tribute to the island’s rich flavors. Warm service, led by Thuwan, who’s been serving for 43 years, added a special touch.
Notably, this restaurant had the honor of hosting Queen Elizabeth II herself, adding historical charm to the already captivating ambiance.
Beyond the enchanting atmosphere, the restaurant caters to various preferences with indoor and outdoor dining options. Situated on Visaka Road, Colombo, street parking is convenient, and private dining is available for intimate occasions.
The extensive menu offers something for everyone, and the reasonable prices make the experience accessible without compromising on quality.
Despite a slightly cramped table, Cyril Rodrigo’s Green Cabin effortlessly combines cultures, offering an exceptional culinary journey in an inviting and exclusive setting. For an unforgettable experience that blends tradition with elegance, this restaurant is...
Read moreWent for the hoppers ! It was really good the platter comes with one egg hopper and 3 plain hoppers and sambol for a little less than Rs500. Hoppers taste really good so is the sambol. The star of the night for me was the black pork curry. Loved it. I think it's the best for hoppers. We tried Pani Appa and Hakuru Appa. Seems to be they have taken the meaning . The Pani Appa had treacle drizzled inside of mixing it in the batter itself. Tho it's a nice if still prefer the original. Hakuru Appa had little crumbs of jaggery in the middle and to the heat of the hopper it was sorta melted. I really like it. For one set you get 3 Pani Appa or Hakuru Appa. I got their condensed milk tea, it was not up to my liking but I'm sure most of you like a strong tea with milk so I'm not complaining.
The only negative thing I would say, the way the handle food, mostly beverages . I saw them touching the straws, coughing next to the drinks, wiping sweat and so on. I'd say these are normal in a normal road side hoppers joint but didn't expect it here. Other than that it's a really nice restaurant and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Recommended to anyone who is planning to take someone out for some Sri...
