If you want somewhere different and comfortable to have good food and work, MAQARA is the place to go. This American-Chinese fusion kitchen and coffee palace rises to its tagline, “Where worlds collide.” It’s another example of a mouthwatering menu that mashes up two bests to make a great.

But what really distinguishes MAQARA is the bro-y aspect of it. The space is designed for casual diners and those who may need a productive workspace. I had no trouble working, with enough power outlets to charge everything at once. The staff really went out of their way to ensure I felt comfortable and looked after — friendliness is one of the highlights of the place.

The food, meanwhile, did not disappoint. All of the dishes were made with attention with excellent flavors and fresh ingredients. MAQARA delivers if you’re here for either a meal or just a coffee break. If you enjoy a good meal in a relaxed, nonjudgmental setting, it’s a gem of a place....

Food is really tasty and the price you pay for each dish is absolutely fair, in fact I was surprised how "cheap" this resturant priced each dish for the amount and quality you receive.

The interior seems a little tired and lackluster, but it's made up for with the service and food. However, it would be nice to sit in a more comfortable environment. Each time we've visited we have been the only customers in there. Maybe it's a seasonal thing, but I'm surprised how empty this place is. This also has an impact on the environment and feels of the resturant. Atmosphere is dead.

I cannot fault the food, I'm left full and not in any need for seconds. The service is lovely and not in your face.

Would recommend for a quick bite to eat before a long journey, for lunch or an easy fix before heading home in the evening. It will satiate you for a good...

Clean and cozy restaurant near Dutch Hospital (Fort) area. Stumbled upon this place as I was trying to find a vegetarian & no allium friendly place. Staff was helpful although there is very limited food items for vegetarian without allium (no onion, no garlic) - literally only tofu mac and cheese & churros.

I ordered the mac and cheese and flat white coffee. Food was served hot & it’s tasty (a bit hot spicy, but was ok for me). Coffee tasted good. Staff was proactive and asked mid way through food how was it. Great service.

Bathroom looks old but clean… always plus point when am travelling!!
