Read moreI was down for summer holidays, and visited Galle with my family. We decided to walk around the Galle Fort and settle down at this restaurant to have some lunch. I was looking forward to enjoying some fresh sea food by the beach, and boy was I utterly disappointed. I ordered a seer fish dish that said it would be a fillet of fish served with a side of kiribath type garlic rice. For the price of the dish my expectation was high, however what I received was 4 tiny pieces of fish with a big side of rice and small salad. When asked the server he said they didn't have much fish to cook for the dish, hence serving this portion. It tasted awful and I lost my appetite. My sister ordered the Tom Yum which tasted like overly spiced dirty water. I wonder if the owners of this establishment are the least bit concerned, that this type of food is served here. We felt like we were being watched and did not want to make a scene or return the food, so we paid our bill and left very disheartened and disappointed. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. The service was not accommodating, they are not professionals but local folks who have been hired to wait tables and have no basic knowledge of the service industry. They look like thugs, and do not...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. The venue has a great view. Serviced seemed good to start. Drink were good. After asking about the special of the day that was lobster and I was sold by the waiter's description. When we ordered we were informed that food would take 30mins which we were fine with. They also told other tables the same information. An hour after we ordered we had watched many tables that had ordered after us get their food. We were then informed that the lobster had just been put under the grill. Clearly they don't even stock lobsters. The frustrating thing is if i was informed, I would have happily ordered anything else of the menu that looked good. 1 hour and 20 minutes after ordering my lobster arrived. Then the rain started and we were soaked, the staff were very unhelpfull, we had a crying baby that was way overdue for a nap due to the slow service. We had to move a table to the back side of the restaurant by ourselves and were never offered help. My wife went to pay the bill as I didn't want to get in an agreement. We were charged in full despite the wait. Ironically, they still added the 'service' charge. It really impacted our day and our experience in Galle. Avoid this place or at least don't order...
