Located within the historic Galle Fort, this place offers a delightful dining experience with a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. The ambiance is a blend of elegance and comfort, making it a great spot for both casual and special meals.
During our visit, we enjoyed two dishes: Chicken Fried Noodles and Lasagna. Both were excellently prepared, but the standout for me was the lasagna, which had layers of rich, cheesy goodness that were simply mouthwatering. My wife, on the other hand, favored the Chicken Fried Noodles, a flavorful and generously portioned dish. In fact, the noodles portion was so large that it could easily serve two people, making it a great option for sharing.
The food was not only superb in taste but also very reasonably priced. The value for money is evident, and considering the portion sizes and quality, it felt like a great deal. Additionally, the staff was friendly and polite, adding to the overall positive experience.
I highly recommend Indian Summer to anyone visiting Galle Fort. With its delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, and courteous staff, it’s a place we’ll definitely be...
Read moreMy partner and I recently visited Indian Summer in Galle Fort, and I regret to say it was one of the most frustrating dining experiences we've ever had. We were prepared for a nice evening, but the service was truly abysmal, so much so that we ended up leaving before we even received our food. We attempted to call our server over multiple times for assistance, yet our efforts were consistently ignored. It was shockingly obvious that the staff was prioritizing and attending almost exclusively to foreign nationals, while we, as local patrons, were repeatedly overlooked and made to feel invisible. After numerous failed attempts to get simple service, and realizing we were not going to be properly attended to, we made the decision to walk out. To be ignored to the point of not receiving a meal is a complete failure of hospitality and customer service. This level of unprofessionalism and clear bias is unacceptable. I urge the management to seriously address this issue. Based on this experience, I absolutely cannot recommend Indian...
Read moreI dined here with my friend. We are both visiting Galle from New Zealand. My friend being European and I am a brown man. I bring this up because of the differential treatment we got at this restaurant. The older waiter did not once address me, all his conversations were directed towards my friend to point where it was as if I didn’t exist. I’m not one to complain but this has been a common theme in the fort area and we recently experienced it at 1710 in the fort too, I assume I pass off as Sri Lankan and hence the treatment I receive. It’s a pity as the food and drinks was decent, Its a Halal restaurant and the younger waitress was lovely but it does leave a sour taste when you feel so unwelcome. It also raises points on how locals are treated within these established that are aimed at tourists. I hope your staff receives some training, as much as I enjoyed the food I find it hard...
