This place actively participate in scaming the tourists and charge you additionaly over 20% more through taxes and service charges than whats on the menu. The scam is classic, local guy who wants to have a drink with you, buy you a drink and so on. I saw what is comming, so I asked for my bill as I finnished taking my order at that point. When we were nearly finnished with food and beer, scamer tried ordering beer for me. I said clearly that i don't want anything more. Bartender ignored me and proceed to take my bill back to the bar, i followed him demanding my bill back. This prevented them from reprinting my bill and adding drinks of a scamer. What he managed to do was to slip second bill into my bill book. Fortunatelly I checked whats inside and returned him not my bill. Bartender, scamer and guy behind cash register were cooperating this scam.
This place is not trustworthy. Don't go there for drinks as they will probably add something to a drunk guest bill.
Food was ok at best, not worth the price. Taphouse with only one tap and one beer...

The beef steak in particular was like chewing old leather. Table of 8, last meal was brought out over 90 mins after the first!! I ordered seafood special, and it was neither seafood or special (I received chicken version). One friend was given a dish confirmed as the chicken he ordered but was in fact tuna!! There's much better places in Galle Fort to eat really nice tasty good quality food with good service at differing price points - Cannon Bar, Bungalow, Elita, Tuna and Crab etc. Maybe ditch the food, and be a great place for vibes, music and beer.

Read moreVisited on a weekday. Even though this is inside the Galle Fort, you dont have a view of the ocean because its on the lower level. They do have plenty of space inside and tables on the courtyard. The guy who took my order and served was friendly and polite, something that we locals don't experience much. Ordered a chilli cheese fries for my first round of Lion beer, and a Navaratna tagliatelle (vege pasta) for the second round. The chilli cheese had some good potato wedges, but only a little cheese and a couple of beens. The pasta tasted a little too curryish for my taste, but I'm sure the foreigners would love it. Ok place to chill during the middle of the day. The pasta took a while to be made, even though I was the only one there. Service was definitely...
