GAFE — Restaurant in Galle

This seems to be a tourist trap (like a lot of things in the fort) with low quality food. We ordered two smoothie bowls with tuna. Unfortunately they tasted like nothing, the avocado was missing, so we got egg. The tuna was not good at all and the bowl was just milky rice/coconut rice with few cucumber, carrots etc. 4 or 5 guys are working in the cafe, but it took 30min to get the food although we were alone in the cafe, 15min to get the juice which usually takes 2min to prepare. We must admit it was the worst food we ever had in a restaurant/cafe. Can’t imagine how bad the other food must be, if even a simple bowl is a huge challenge for them. Should have been a warning sign as they have international food choices only. Every Roti from the street and tuk tuk bakery has more taste and quality than this...

Got a rice bowl which was easily made vegan when I asked for no egg or feta, they had the option to add tofu so that’s what I did. So I had a vegan rice bowl with tofu added, I just asked for no egg or cheese and it didn’t feel less than, it had piles of veggies, the carrots were so good, came with tomatoes and mini potatoes, a great veggie vegan option in the fort and easy to get items removed. My other half had the avocado toast without the egg but it was a little sad on its own so perhaps if you go for avo toast without the egg to make it vegan perhaps ask for an extra of something else?
