Fort Heritage food cabin — Restaurant in Galle

I normally don’t leave negative reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience with this restaurant so others are aware of the kind of service being provided.

I visited this place expecting to have a meal, but what I received instead was one of the most disrespectful customer service experiences I’ve ever encountered. When I arrived, there was absolutely no staff visible inside the shop. I waited patiently for someone to attend to me, but no one came. After waiting for a while, I gently knocked on the table just to get the attention of whoever was in charge.

Eventually, a man who I assume was the shopkeeper came out, but instead of greeting me or asking for my order, he immediately started scolding me with extremely rude and disrespectful language. He used inappropriate words, and his attitude was aggressive and offensive, as if I had done something wrong just by trying to get service.

I was shocked and felt completely disrespected. No customer deserves to be treated like that, especially when all I did was wait quietly and try to get help in a reasonable manner. I didn’t even get the chance to place my order. I felt so uncomfortable and insulted that I decided to leave the place immediately.

Spechless, everything was amazing. We called ahead to see if they were open, a kind gentleman answered the phone and informed us that they were open. Once at the shop, we were greeted politely. Very friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend for everyone to try. Absolutely delicious. Food tastes fresh and cooked to perfection with love and care. The best food we tried in Galle!! Very tasty and generous portions 😍 I tried the chicken soup, the seafood fried rice, the burgers and the roti wraps… everything was absolutely delicious and the owner of the restaurant is so friendly and attentive! He even took us around in his Tuktuk one day and showed us around the fort (where he was born and raised) and didn’t charge us for it!
