ADAMO — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

Came here solo for a few cocktails and some snacks as I was travelling in the area. I was very impressed with the cocktails I was served (Sazerac and two Negronis) but especially impressed with the service from Simon, he was constantly smiling and very polite, both to me and everyone else in the bar; it was noticeable. It’s a shame that his colleague was not the same, I did not get his name, but this member of staff showed an element of lethargy, which I felt was directed more-so at me than the rest of the customers. Perhaps because I was English. When I visited this cocktail bar I strived to dress down, as an experiment to see if people are treated differently by their appearance. Unfortunately, the latter member of staff was a prime example of this. However, I have still given 5 stars as everything else was fantastic, and I do appreciate that even the best of us have bad days. I will definitely...

Food: I didn't eat, but I tried their cocktails. Three out of four were really good. Stay away from Bog’s Gold! It sounded interesting on the card, but it just smelled and tasted like sour milk.

Service: The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and every cocktail came with its own history lesson about its origin and how it was made. Unfortunately, they intentionally overfilled a drink because it looked cool, but it ended up overflowing and making everything sticky.

Atmosphere: The place is quite small, with seating packed very close together. This creates a loud environment and, unfortunately, very uncomfortable seating. They may serve their drinks in plant pots, but I too felt like one, perched uncomfortably on a small windowsill with neither back support...

Really tasty cocktails, with authentic ideas and flavours. Recommend the cheesecake cocktail because it's delicious!

Overall it's a nice place, with low lighting and music. Can be a little loud at peak times though for the type of cocktail bar it is. I personally enjoy it more when the place quietens down and isn't so busy.

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the drinks; drinks come quickly too. It's just sometimes difficult to catch attention of staff and you have to do this every time you want to order a new drink, rather than them checking if you want another.
